Week 16 Largest NFL Public Wagers

There is far fewer lopsided wagers on Week 16 NFL games than last week, according to Pregame.com’s Sportsbook Spy.  The percentages used show the percentage of tickets written, not the dollar amount wagered.  Most of the bets with heavy one-sided action are on overs.  This was also the case last week when the public went 7-3 on totals.

Only two Week 16 NFL games include two teams that have have already been eliminated from the playoffs.  This should help keep players trying their hardest to improve playoff positioning for their team or increase the chances of making the postseason.

There are five games with 70% or more of the action on one side of the point spread.  They are:

• Denver -10 (79%) over Houston
• Kansas City -6.5 (78%) over Indianapolis
• Jacksonville +4.5 (75%) over Tennessee
• Cincinnati – 8.5 (70%) over Minnesota
• Miami -2.5 (70%) over Buffalo

There are eight moneylines with more than 70% of the tickets on one side.  There are some large favorites on this list this week.  This can create lopsided ticket action when the money is actually closer to even.

Heavy public moneyline action includes:

• Denver -485 (96%) over Houston
• Jacksonville +185 (94%) over Tennessee
• Detroit -480 (94%) over New York Giants
• San Francisco -800 (85%) over Atlanta
• Oakland +350 (81%) over San Diego
• Miami -135 (73%) over Buffalo
• Chicago +135 (71%) over Philadelphia
• Dallas -150 (71%) over Washington

There are nine total bets with one-sided action this week.  Like most weeks, all of these heavy public wagers are on the over.

• Atlanta/San Francisco (95%) over 45
• Indianapolis/Kansas City (92%) over 46.5
• Tennessee/Jacksonville (87%) over 44
• Denver/Houston (85%) over 53
• Tampa Bay/St, Louis (81%) over 43
• Dallas/Washington (80%) over 53
• Miami/Buffalo (76%) over 43
• New England/Baltimore (74%) over 44.5
• Minnesota/Cincinnati (70%) over 48
