Week 1 of the National Football League Preseason Set to Kick-off

The National Football League is back. Week 1 of the preseason is here, and all 32 teams will be in action. In the next three weeks, there will be games throughout the weekend to let the preseason run its course and move to the regular season.

Let’s take a look at the National Football League Week 1 preseason schedule with the latest betting odds.

Thursday

  • Houston Texans -2 at New England Patriots
  • Minnesota Vikings +4.5 at Seattle Seahawks

Two games on Thursday. The Texans are talking about playing CJ Stroud, their new shiny rookie quarterback, in that one. Fans certainly would enjoy seeing the former Ohio State star. For New England, it’ll be status quo, a lot of running the football, short passing, and solid defense.

Game two sees the Vikings and Seahawks in a battle of NFC playoff teams. The Vikings lost Dalvin Cook, so they will look at a new run game, while Seattle is going to be an interesting case all season.

Can Geno Smith provide solid quarterback play again after the league saw him for a season?

Friday

  • Green Bay Packers -4.5 at Cincinnati Bengals
  • New York Giants -3 at Detroit Lions
  • Atlanta Falcons -2.5 at Miami Dolphins
  • Pittsburgh Steelers +1 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Denver Broncos -5.5 at Arizona Cardinals

The Packers are starting life without Aaron Rodgers, while the Bengals may have to live life without Joe Burrow for a while.

The Giants and Lions both feel they are contenders in a wide-open NFC, but both have question marks to answer. Atlanta will see what they can get out of a young combination of Desmond Ridder and Bijan Robinson as they take on the Dolphins, who are many people’s AFC darling.

Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay will battle in a tilt of the need to improve quarterback play game. Finally, Sean Payton is back at it, as he and his Broncos are in Arizona to take on the Cardinals.

Saturday

  • Tennessee Titans +3.5 at Chicago Bears
  • Indianapolis Colts -5.5 at Buffalo Bills
  • New York Jets +3.5 at Carolina Panthers
  • Jacksonville Jaguars -4 at Dallas Cowboys
  • Philadelphia Eagles +6 at Baltimore Ravens
  • Los Angeles Chargers +3 at Los Angeles Rams

It’s Justin Fields’ world, and we are all just living in it this offseason. A ton of hype for him and the Bears, especially after just three wins a season ago. Derrick Henry and the Titans know they can be better and likely will. The Indianapolis Colts have been a mess this off-season and will be Taylor-less.

They take on AFC’s favorite, Buffalo. Aaron Rodgers team – the New York Jets will take on a new look Carolina team. Jacksonville and Dallas are a battle of upstart playoff contenders that should both be better in 2023.

The Eagles and Ravens may be the best game of the preseason, but we already know the Ravens are preseason champions (again). Then, late Saturday night, the battle of Los Angeles. The fights in the crowd may be the most interesting part of this game.

Sunday

  • Kansas City Chiefs +3 at New Orleans Saints
  • San Francisco 49ers -4 at Las Vegas Raiders

Finally, we get to Sunday. The day the National Football League is meant to be played. The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs start their preseason, on the road, in a dome. The Saints will look to take advantage of a wide-open NFC South.

Finally, a battle out west as the 49ers and Raiders mix it up. Quarterback battle is going on in San Francisco between Trey Lance and Brock Purdy.

There it is. Those are the National Football League Week 1 preseason games. Enjoy the games, and if you are going to bet on them, best of luck!
