Toronto has had a terrific season, and are surely looking forward to their battle with Philly in this upcoming contest. They have a chance to show them just how good they are, and especially in this road game.
Philly has a chance on the other hand to show Toronto that they could take them on. We’ll see if they are prepared for this one, as they have struggled to defend guards.
The team with the #7 offense and #10 defense in the league has surely impressed teams around the league, especially considering just how many injuries they have suffered. JV remains out of the lineup, and Kyle Lowry and Kawhi have shuffled in and out. Kyle Lowry is going to likely miss tonight’s game, which means a huge role for Fred Van Vleet, and likely OG Anunoby on the defense end as well. Kawhi is averaging around 27 points per gane, and shooting close to 50% from the floor, with his old Spurs pal Danny Green rocking the three ball.
The bench will be the real key for them to get the win tonight. Delon Wright, Norman Powell, and CJ Miles are going to have to knock their shots down, while Greg Monroe needs to give them steady minutes against Embiid off the bench, to take some pressure off of Serge.
They have been underrated this year, and at 34-19, are now tied with Boston for the third spot in the conference. Joel Embiid is certainly in the thick of the MVP race, as his scoring numbers have been sensational, as he has been dominant on the glass. Ben Simmons‘ game is still exactly the same, but his stats have improved, and he was elected as an All-Star in just year two. Jimmy Butler is continuing to cause some stirs, but he scores for them and provides a voice of “reason”. And then JJ Redick is out there burying the long ball, regularly. They will be without Wilson Chandler however, and they will definitely miss his game.
They are 21st in the league in points allowed, and this is something they have to fix for tonight. Corey Brewer will be getting a good chunk of minutes off the bench, and we’ll see if he can continue to bring high amounts of energy. Landry Shamet’s three-point shooting could also come in handy, if they can get him enough open looks, that is.
Philly comes away victorious on their home floor
Yeah, it’s not happening for Toronto tonight. Be sure that you bet PHI -4.5! Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are both going to have big performances to help lift Philly to their 35th win of the year. This will be a good day for them.
Toronto just won’t be able to emerge with the W, as Kawhi won’t have enough help.
