Sunday Showdown: Minnesota Vikings at New England Patriots Betting Prediction

Kirk Cousins has been up and down this year in his new home, but he has his team in playoff position if the season were to start today. This team has played well in primetime, and they have another chance against an AFC powerhouse.

New England has been looking good again. They have yet to lose at home this year, and with the recent roster move by the Chiefs, could be looked at as the official number one in the AFC. Brady loves playing under the lights, no doubt about that.

Vikings:

Minnesota is in the middle of the pack with the #16 offense in the league, averaging 24 points per game. Defensively, they are #10 with 22.4 points per game allowed. Generally, this says that most games they play are close, for better or worse. They have scored under 20 points just one time on the year, and by the numbers, it looks like Kirk Cousins has been elite this year. He’s thrown for 3,289 yards while completing 71% of his passes. He has also thrown 22 touchdown passes, and only seven picks. A lot of slander has been thrown around about him, while he has slung the ball so impressively.

Adam Thielen is likely to eclipse 100 catches on the season this week, and he’s already scored eight times and had 1,138 yards. He and Stefon Diggs have been quite the 1-2 punch. Danielle Hunter has transformed into one of the best pass-rushers in the league with 11.5 sacks to date, and he looks dominant out there.

Patriots:

Looking to start a new winning streak after their win against the Jets, New England could not be happier to be back home, where they are undefeated this year. They have the #7 offense in the league with 28 points per game, while they rank #12 in points allowed, at 22.6 per game. Brady has continued to do his thing, completing 65% of his passes with 19 touchdowns and just over 3,000 yards. Like Cousins, he has been picked seven times, most of those coming in the earlier part of the season. Having Julian Edelman back has made him a lot more comfortable, as Josh Gordon (31 REC 547 YDS 2 TD’s) has become a consistent threat.

They have struggled to find a dominant pass-rusher as Deatrich Wise is leading the team with just 4.5. Cordarelle Patterson has been one of the best returners in the league, and he now visits his old team in the Vikings. He has been a tremendous offensive player for the Pats too, occasionally filling in as a running back.

Patriots stay hot at home, knock off the Vikings

The Pats won’t be stopped at home, not this week, as they hand this L to the Vikings. Brady is going to have quite the game today.

The running game will also do a number on Minnesota, who will be able to bounce back next week, but not today.
