Sunday Night Football: Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots

An exciting matchup should be coming between these two teams tonight. The Chiefs have been one of the only teams with tremendous regular season success against the Pats over the last few years. With Pat Mahomes by their side, they have a chance to do it in primetime again.

The Pats, on the other hand, have come back to being their old selves with consecutive convincing wins to put them back atop the AFC East. The QB battle will be exciting, as will seeing young RB’s Kareem Hunt and Sony Michel square off. The Patriots are -3.5 over the Chiefs, with a total of 60!

Unbeaten Chiefs

Nothing could be better for this team right now, as they have gotten off to a 5-0 start to kick off the post-Alex Smith era. It has truly been impressive just how dominant their offense has looked. Tyreek Hill has continued to outrun everybody on the field, while Travis Kelce has dominated opposing safeties and linebackers. Nine different Chiefs players have caught TD passes over the first few weeks, and it is Mahomes ability to spread the ball so well, that has made this team so tough to stop. It clearly seems that the blown 21-3 playoff lead against the Titans last year is out of their heads.

Although they have been allowing a lot of points, this Chiefs D has made a ton of big plays this year. They have recorded 15 sacks (four apiece for Allen Bailey and Dee Ford), and have six interceptions (six players each with one). That is something that will be vital, to get pressure on Brady, and try and pick him off. He has thrown an uncharacteristic number of picks so far this year.

Patriots Looking to Stay Hot

After their 1-2 start to the season, the Pats have responded with absolute gusto, averaging 38 points per game over the past two weeks. Brady is averaging 1.2 interceptions per game, something we aren’t used to, but now that he has Julian Edelman back and he’s been with the team for another week things should start looking a bit better. Sony Michel has been pounding the pigskin all over opposing defenses the past two weeks, something we expect to continue. Neither the Colts or Dolphins saw what was coming.

New England has failed to generate much of a pass-rush this year, with only seven sacks in five weeks. They have only allowed Brady to be sacked six times, as the O-Line- despite injuries and free agent departures- have looked good. There are still some things they have to work on, but if Brady is in his element, at home, they should get to 4-2.

Chiefs Keep It Going, Win to Get to 6-0

The pick is going to be a Chiefs win. They are +3.5 point underdogs, so be sure to bet that. Their offense is dynamic as any in the league is, and Mahomes is going to go OFF on New England tonight. He will not be slowed down.
