Sacramento Kings vs. Atlanta Hawks Betting Preview

The Kings will be on the East Coast as they face the Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday night. Both of these teams are below where they had expected to be when the year began. One has fired their coach already, while the other has been a bit apprehensive of doing so.

At 15-22, it’s truly a miracle the Kings aren’t even lower down. The team they have is full of youth and talent, combined with savvy veteran players. But they have done a lot of losing and shown to be the most inconsistent team in the league when it comes to highs and lows. Buddy Hield could finally be traded after clashing with his coach for much of last season. Harrison Barnes might be on the move.

Atlanta comes off a crazy win a few nights ago, where Tony Snell knocked down a three as time expired to lift the Hawks to a win. Snell has never been known for his clutch ability, but he buried that one. Trae Young had been scoring effectively with Fred VanVleet out for the Raptors, while Danilo Gallinari posted another strong performance. Atlanta looks to extend their streak under Nate McMillan.

ODDS: Saturday’s spread is currently set at ATL -4. The over/under is 240.5 points.

Kings Searching for Road Win

De’Aaron Fox has proven for the Kings this year that he is a true star at the point guard position. He can score from everywhere on the floor, plus penetrate the lane with his blazing speed whenever he wants to. Richaun Holmes has shown some good signs. And it has also been a very good season for rookie Tyrese Haliburton. They do need to figure out their future, though, and which guys will be present for it.

Hassan Whiteside has been out of the lineup for a long stretch, but the vet probably doesn’t belong here anymore, with the team who originally drafted him all those years ago. It’s been crazy to see that Jabari Parker has played in just eight games since coming to Sacramento. He turns 26 next week and had been very good in Atlanta before SAC.

Hawks Looking to Inch Closer to .500

The Hawks season started off impressively before the losses began to pile up. There were likely two reasons for that. One of them being that the team doesn’t defend well. The other was likely that Lloyd Pierce was holding them back, unable to keep his team engaged. Plenty of reasons can be used to talk about the struggle.

Trae Young is continuing to dominate the stats, but clearly, something has changed from last year. Because he was not voted into the All-Star Game, and even though several replacement players got the call, he still didn’t get his chance.

John Collins could be on the move, as well. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari being healthy together is neat given that they spent so much money on the two of them this summer. Capela has been their best player, arguably.
