Phoenix Suns @ Denver Nuggets Betting Preview

After a kickoff to the second-round on Saturday night, the Denver Nuggets were able to take care of business on their home court against the Phoenix Suns.

In a strange turn of events, the Nuggets’ defense was on point, and many of the players not named Kevin Durant or Devin Booker were unable to accomplish much of anything on offense.

Asked after the game if he was surprised by the results, Durant reminded reporters that the Nuggets are the one seed in the Western Conference for a reason and that they would be ready to go in game two of this series.

Confidence is one thing Durant does not lack, and he has spent his entire career dealing with adversity that he pushes through time and time again.

All of that is well and good, but Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic were absolutely unstoppable for the entire game.

Ahead of game two on Monday night, the oddsmakers have the Nuggets as favorites on their home court over the Suns at -4.5.

More players in need of getting involved for Phoenix

It wasn’t the best look ever after an easy series win against the Clippers, and the Suns now have to figure out what they can do to get everyone involved on offense.

While they did lose the game by a pretty big margin, it really wasn’t the worst game they ever played, and a few different plays here and there could have changed everything.

Ahead of game two, more players off the bench have to be able to provide a spark to their scoring that they are severely lacking at the current moment.

Durant and Booker can continue to dominate and hopefully the other players on this team can follow suit and give them a chance in game two.

An MVP performance paired with a playoff savant

Jokic came out aggressive from the opening tip and took many shots in this game, which is something we aren’t used to seeing from him.

It has completely changed the Denver offense in a way that wasn’t expected, as now more attention is being drawn to Jokic leaving Murray with one-on-one opportunities that he has been able to win without much struggle.

The same level of offense could be expected for game two, as the Nuggets were one of the best home-court teams of the year.

Suns @ Nuggets Betting Prediction

After the conclusion of game one, the Suns left spectators with more questions than answers, and they are going to have to try and do everything they can to have a better performance.

If their defense can manage a few more stops, they can certainly steal a game on the road and break the home-court advantage that Denver has.

Denver is a heck of a team, though, and they are not going to go down that easily. Jokic and Murray reminded us why they are one of the best duos in the league, and they should be taken to win on their home court in this one at -4.5
