Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Nuggets Betting Preview

Even as Joel Embiid remains out of the lineup, Philly and Denver is a must-see matchup. The 76ers have found ways to continue to keep the wins up, even without their MVP-caliber center. Embiid may never play an entire season, but when he does play, they are very tough to defeat.

Philly enters action with a 32-14 record and will try and do what they can to hold off Brooklyn and Milwaukee. The Bucks just got crushed by the Clippers on Monday, so the 76ers could distance themselves a bit with a win in this one.

Ben Simmons is continuing to carry the defense while making smart decisions on the other end. Some call him overrated, but Simmons himself knows what he brings to the floor.

The Nuggets will likely get JaVale McGee in for his debut in this contest. Aaron Gordon started and played 21 minutes, scoring 13 points and grabbing five rebounds against Atlanta on Sunday.

He’ll bring the defensive ability you have with Paul Millsap but add more scoring and athleticism around the rim. At 36 years of age, reducing Millsap’s role will be good for everybody.

ODDS

The 28-18 Nuggets are riding high and are 4.5-point favorites. The over/under is set at 221 points.

Philly Seeks Another Win Without Embiid

Doc Rivers has come to Philly and instantly made the team better. Some personnel moves were made over the summer as some things had to change with the roster after a first-round sweep.

But it has just come together so nicely for the franchise. Two years ago, they were a Kawhi Leonard bounce away from Game 7 going to overtime, where anything could have happened.

And two years later, the team is finally in a good position again, so they have to ride the wave. Danny Green was on the other side of things at that point, and now he’s a 76er.

He, Seth Curry, and Dwight Howard have provided tremendous value, as George Hill should also be able to do once he gets up to speed. Look for Tobias Harris to continue his strong play as well.

Nuggets Seek Win with New Additions

Everything is coming up gold for the Nuggets over the last few weeks. They’ve finally gotten healthy and retooled a bit by adding Gordon and McGee to spice up the second unit and add more athletic ability to the starting lineup. Gordon will give them the types of things they have missed in losing Jerami Grant in the offseason.

McGee played for Denver from 2012-2015, but he wasn’t as well-liked by the coaching staff. Now a multi-time NBA champ, McGee brings championship pedigree and elite-level playmaking near the basket in short spurts. His efforts in Cleveland have put him into the position he’s now in, as much as the titles in Golden State and L.A.

Look for Jamal Murray to stay hot, going for 30+ points.

Nuggets Fall a Little Short

The victory will be enjoyed by the 76ers, as the Nuggets are put in their place.
