Orlando Magic at Boston Celtics Betting Preview

As the Magic are in Boston to face the Celtics, they enter off a win. It was not probable that when these teams got together, Orlando would have a better streak entering play. Boston has been cold of late, and it’s hard to pinpoint exactly the biggest issue the team is currently dealing with.

They have problems with depth, as most players off the bench not named Rob Williams can’t make a consistent impact. The rotation is seemingly changing every game, with Grant Williams and Semi Ojeleye flipping for one another. The same has been true of Jeff Teague and Javante Green, regardless of if Kemba has been playing. Tatum and Brown can do all they want, but if the other guys don’t hold their weight, the wins aren’t going to arrive.

Orlando are 14-27 and should be sellers at the deadline. Is it even possible to trade guys that haven’t played in over a month due to injury? Orlando has been a mess all year, losing Markelle Fultz early on and never quite recovering. There is always another injury to discuss, as that is the type of year it has been. Could they pull the trigger and trade franchise star Nikola Vucevic? You never know.

ODDS: The struggling Celtics are the favorites, at -8,5. The over/under is set at 216.5 points.

Orlando Seeks Second Win in a Row

It was good to see the Magic pounce on the Nets the other night. Brooklyn had been 15-1 in their past 16 games, whereas Orlando has 13 wins in 40 total contests. They moved the ball well, and the shooters did their thing. Vooch had a good game, but it was Aaron Gordon who finally is healthy again and had a big performance, going for over 30 in the upset victory.

The year has been tough, but watching Chuma Okeke play has been fun. He’s looked good during his first season, while it appears that using a lottery pick on Mo Bamba during the 2019 draft will never be a smart choice. With all of the other players taken after him showing out, it looks like a bad blunder on the front office.

A win here would garner the Magic their first winning streak since they took three in a row from Feb 17 to 21.

Celtics Seek Home Win

At 20-21, it is safe to say the Celtics are among the NBA’s biggest disappointments. They had two All-Stars, one of which puts a lot of bacon on his Subway Sub. But that doesn’t lead to the team winning games. And their loss to the Cavs earlier in the week was a huge headscratcher.

Ordinarily, betting on Boston over Orlando would be a no-brainer. But given where the state of the team is, that is not the case at all. The return of Marcus Smart was supposed to rejuvenate them, but it hasn’t done so in any way, shape, or form. Somebody needs to be held responsible, and it might not be just Brad Stevens.

Celtics Win at Home

Boston will end their slump by beating the Magic big. For one night, all issues are forgotten.
