A lovely Friday night baseball matchup between the New York Mets and the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field with the start time set for about 6:40 PM local time.
Both teams have played close to a .500 record so far this season, and the Mets will be deploying Max Scherzer in this opening series matchup against the Rockies.
Colorado will throw out Connor Seabold, who has a high ERA this season but still boasts a reputable 1-1 record on the season.
Scherzer is the superior pitcher in this matchup, and the Mets are going to rely on him to carry them against the Rockies’ best batters like C.J. Cron and Elias Diaz.
For the Mets this season, they are riding on the backs of Pete Alonso, who has been absolutely dominant on the year and really can be a one-man wrecking crew in any game.

They are going to have their hands full in this matchup, despite some of the success they experienced against the Marlins in their most recent series.
For a lineup with not much consistency from game to game, Elias Diaz has been elite in their batting rotation and is one of the best hitters in the league.
He isn’t a volume slugger, but he certainly gets the job done getting hits and getting on base.
