New Orleans Saints at Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview

Fresh off a win in the season opener, New Orleans is looking to get off to a 2-0 start. They’ll be on the road for a historic game.

This will be the first football game ever hosted by a team from Las Vegas. And this will officially commemorate the dawn of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders also came away with a win in their first game and will be looking to make it 2-0. Josh Jacobs seemed as healthy and explosive as ever in the opener, no real sign of last year’s injury problems lingering.

This is a team brimming with potential, but playing in a very tough division. Every week they can win one, they can stay in the race.

And the Saints will have it tough. Michael Thomas is going to be out of the lineup, a blow they will certainly feel. He is a huge part of the offense and had a historic season with all of his receptions in 2019. The only way to replace him will have to be by committee.

ODDS:

The Saints are still 5.5-point favorites for Monday Night Football. The over/under is set at 48.5.

New Orleans Aims to Make it 2-0

This is just the fifth time in the Sean Payton era that the Saints won their first game of the season. They took down Tom Brady’s Buccaneers to get to that mark.

Now they’ll hope that the Raiders, another team with a bit of a different look from 2019, can be next. They haven’t reached the Super Bowl in over a decade.

They have been good enough in the past few years, but have still fallen short in the playoffs. Kyle Rudolph dashed their dreams with a fantastic TD late in the game last year. But as long as the team has Drew Brees under center, anything is possible.

This has to be another Super Bowl or bust season. No more excuses. Now that Alvin Kamara has been paid, there are no lingering distractions.

Raiders Look For 2-0 Beginning

They took care of the Panthers, and now New Orleans is next. The year starts with two NFC games, a rarity on the schedule.

Derek Carr looked good, and Jacobs was running all over the Panthers. The game was a bit too close for their liking, but a win is a win.

This is Jon Gruden’s third season at the helm since his 10-year $100 million deal was signed. They aren’t exactly title contenders, but they need to show progress. They were close to the playoffs last year, but couldn’t finish the season strong.

With the extra playoff team in each conference this year, this could be their chance to finally sneak in. They want to show the Broncos and Chargers that they can be better. The Raiders have to win those head-to-heads when they happen.

Saints Roll to Win

Coach Payton’s crew gets to 2-0. The Raiders never stood a chance. Sorry, Vegas.
