Monday Night Football: Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens

On Monday Night Football for Week 12 – the Houston Texans will battle the Baltimore Ravens. Both teams have struggled off and on this season, but both have an outside chance at reaching the postseason. The Houston Texans are 4-6 and third place in the AFC South. The Texans are coming off a win over the Arizona Cardinals last week to snap their three game losing streak.

For the Baltimore Ravens – they are 5-5 on the season. The Ravens are also coming off a win in their last outing. Baltimore is tied with the Buffalo Bills, and just 1/2 game ahead of the Los Angeles Chargers for the second wildcard in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens are -7 over the Houston Texans in this Monday Night Football affair for Week 12.

The Baltimore Ravens are somehow in contention to reach the postseason. This is the same team that got beat back to back weeks by Jacksonville and Pittsburgh, allowing 35 points per game. This team also lost at home to the Bears. But, Coach Harbaugh’s team has only allowed 171 on the season. The Ravens are scoring 21.3 and allowing just 17.1 per game.

Offensively, the Ravens are getting the job done, somehow. The Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is 266 yards shy of 2,000 on the season with 9 touchdown passes. Jeremy Maclin leads the team in receiving yards, but with just 344. Alex Collins has taken over as the top rusher for the Ravens, as he has 570 yards on the ground.

Savage Back at It

Tom Savage is back at it as the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans. Savage took over for the injured DeShaun Watson earlier this season. The Texans have dropped to 17th in passing with just 221.5 yards per game. The running game has been solid with 128 yards per game on the ground.

DeAndre Hopkins is one of the best wide receivers in all of the National Football League. Hopkins needs 121 to reach 1,000 yards this season, and his next touchdown will be his 10th. The Texans are 6th in all of the league with nearly 27 points per game, but have allowed nearly 27 per game as well. Houston will play back to back road games as they are at the Titans next week.

Ravens Win; Texans Cover

The Baltimore Ravens are the favorites here – and that’s fine. But the point spread is too high. The running game of the Houston Texans will keep them in this game. Houston could come away with an outright win, but the better of the bets would be to take the Ravens to win, but Houston to cover. The final bet is the Houston Texans +7 over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.
