For Arizona, they are winners of back to back games. They shut-out the Dodgers on Wednesday to win the three game series. The Diamondbacks are 24-26 on the season, which is third in the National League West.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are -190. The total for this game is 8.5.

Marlins Seeking to Play Good Ball into June

The Marlins have struggled offensively for much of the season. But, recently Miami has found some life. Miami scored 21 runs in a recent three game series against the Mets. Now, the Mets are hitting .232 as a team, and scoring just shy of 3.9 runs per game. The top offensive threats  for the Marlins have been Bryan De La Cruz, Josh Bell and Jazz Chisholm.

Miami is not a heavy home run hitting team, but those three are the top home run hitters on the team. De La Cruz leads with 9, while Chisholm has 7 and Bell 6. De La Cruz also leads the team with nine doubles.

Braxton Garrett will get the baseball for the Miami Marlins. The 26 year old lefthander has thrown just 9.2 innings this season. He sits with a 0-0 record, and a 10.24 earned run average. Garrett has struck out 13 batters over those 9.2 innings, and walked just 3 on the season.

Diamondbacks Looking to Get back to .500

For Arizona, they will go with Zac Gallen. Gallen pitched on May 18th against Detroit, and went 6.2 innings, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs. Gallen is 5-3 on the season, with a 3.02 earned run average. He has struck out 55 batters and walked 14 over 50.2 innings.

The Diamondbacks got a great start from Ryne Nelson, as he moved to 3-3 shutting down the Dodgers offense. The Diamondbacks’ earned run average dropped to 4.38 on the season with that performance. Arizona’s offense is one of the tops in the league, as they are scoring 4.6 runs per game.

Corbin Carroll has struggled to start the season. The previous Rookie of the Year winner is hitting just .191 on the season, and has two homeruns. Christian Walker and Ketel Marte are the top home run hitters for Arizona. They both have 10 on the season.

Pick for Friday

We like the Arizona Diamondbacks quite a bit in this game. Gallen will throw well, the Diamondbacks will get the bat on the ball against Garrett, and should win this game.
