Miami Dolphins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Preview

Miami Dolphins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Preview

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play host to a cross-state foe in the form of the Miami Dolphins this weekend when they make the trip to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Sitting at 3-1, the Buccaneers are sitting atop the NFC South just as everyone thought they would, but their games have not looked as impressive as everyone would like.

That being said, you can never count out a team led by Tom Brady in terms of their Super Bowl chances. Luckily for them, they also have a fairly easy schedule coming up that should boost their confidence.

The Dolphins have struggled to get anything going this season, and once Tua Tagovailoa was ruled out with an injury, Jacoby Brissett and his Miami offense have not been able to move the chains.

Looking at the betting odds, Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming into the match as huge favorites, priced around -450 to win the match, while Miami Dolphins are +375 to take the W. The line is set at -10.0 points, while the totals line is set at 48.0 points.

Buccaneers Overview

Tampa Bay has proven that they can score, and like every year, Tom Brady has proven that he can still play top-tier football in his 40’s.

The Bucs are moving the ball well, averaging right around 400 yards of offense per game, and they have scored 30.5 points per game.

Defensively is where they have struggled slightly, much of it because of injuries to the secondary. Sean Murphy-Bunting was injured in the season opener, Carlton Davis is battling a hamstring injury, and Antoine Winfield Jr. is in concussion protocols.

They are last in the league in yards conceded through the air, but last week looked improved with veteran Richard Sherman added to the roster.

Dolphins Overview

As mentioned earlier, the Dolphins have struggled mightily moving the ball on offense, and that has resulted in only 15.5 points per game through the quarter mark of this NFL season.

And that does not match up well when your defense is struggling and giving up 27.3 points per game to their opponents and 136.8 rushing yards per game.

Coach Brian Flores has a lot of work to do to get his team back to where they were at this point last season.

Prediction

While Tampa Bay has failed to put away many of their opponents throughout this season besides their game against the Falcons, I think they have a great shot in covering the 10 point advantage they’ve been given on the spread.

Their defense is still strong despite the injuries, and with Miami’s defense being unable to bail out their offense, I think Tom Brady and his receivers will run rampant this weekend.

It looks like we are in for an exciting match, but at the same time, it is hard to see a Miami Dolphins win here. I’m taking the Bucs to cover.

Betting Pick: Buccaneers -10 (-110)
