Miami Dolphins at Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview

After an 0-2 start to the season, the Dolphins are in search of their first win. After a short week, they find themselves on the road against the Jaguars in a Thursday Night Football battle. Might this finally be the game that we see Tua Tagovailoa on the field for the first time?

They have shown some promising signs through the first few games, but no improvements from a year ago. They finished the year as one of the hottest teams in the NFL after a horrid start. Perhaps, they’re saving it for later on, secretly hoping to land a higher draft pick. The goal, though, is still to win.

The Jaguars looked like they were on their way to a 2-0 start. But Gardner Minshew fired an interception on the game’s final drive a week ago to end things. He looked great for a second consecutive week, though, proving the team right for believing in him.

Gardner has been great through two weeks, and the team looks smart for sticking with him and not seeking another starter after trading Nick Foles.

ODDS:

The spread for this game favors the Jaguars by 3 points. The over/under is set at 48

Dolphins Seek First Win

They bounced back in a big way in Week 2. They had scored only 11 points against the Pats in their opener but put up 28 against Buffalo. They didn’t turn the ball over at all and made sure to move the ball up and down the field to keep things interested. Mike Gesicki went off, hauling in eight passes for over 100 yards.

Jordan Howard has struggled to gain yards but is finishing off drives well. Myles Gaskin is averaging better than five yards per carry, while Matt Breida has shown some explosiveness too. But the team still doesn’t have a rush of longer than 14 yards.

The Jaguars have allowed 105.5 rushing yards per game through two. So this could play in their favor.

Jags Looking for Quick Rebound

The fact that the Texans had a tough schedule to open and began 0-2 was great for this team. With the Titans continuing to play well, they had a little cushion early. But they will need to win this week if they want to think about postseason life.

Yes, it’s just Week 3, but the AFC has a lot of terrific teams, so the extra playoff spot is anything but a guarantee. Minshew has completed 75% of his passes and fired six TD strikes already this year. He’s looked good and will need to continue to perform well.

They cut Leonard Fournette four days before the opener, but haven’t missed him much. James Robinson has accrued 164 rushing yards through the first two games. He has been the only back to receive regular carries, while Chris Thompson has been mostly a receiver.

Jags Come Away Victorious

It will be a big win for the Jaguars in a battle of Florida teams. They improve to 2-1 with the win.
