LSU Tigers at Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Preview

Well, it’s November, and somehow Alabama is not the top team in the nation. The Crimson Tide can take a big step towards regaining that lofty status when it hosts the LSU Tigers on Saturday afternoon. Ed Orgeron’s Tigers find themselves at the top with the biggest challenge of the season now awaiting them. They are going to have to go against Tua Tagovailoa, who healed up quickly, so their defense is going to need to be ready for the fight. The Tigers’ offense has been lighting the nation on fire with their 47 points per game, but they will likely end up far from that total in this battle. Let’s see what they have.

Alabama is used to making the College Football Playoff every year and is currently sitting as the No. 2 team in the nation in most polls, so this is actually a vital game for the Tide. Luckily, they get Tua back, which sends Mac Jones back to the bench. Tagovailoa has been one of the most impressive passers in the nation since taking over in the national championship game a few years back, leading this team to continued greatness. Let’s see what Nick Saban has planned.

The spread for this game featuring the top two teams in the nation has host Alabama as a 6.5-point favorite. The over/under is set at 63 points.

Tigers Look For Big Win

Led by Joe Burrow, the LSU offense has been among the best in the nation all season. Burrow has completed 79 percent of his passes and fired 30 TD strikes to just four picks, adding in another three scores on the ground. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is averaging nearly six yards per run, picking up 683 yards and eight touchdowns through the first eight contests. Justin Jefferson and Terrace Marshall Jr. are as tough a 1-2 receiver duo as any in the country, and the Tide will have their hands full with them out there.

The pass rush for the Tigers hasn’t impressed much, as they lack guys who can finish plays off with sacks. Unfortunately for them, their sack leader, Michael Divinity Jr., recently left the team for personal reasons. Fifteen Tigers have at least 0.5 sacks, but no one has dominated alone.

Another Title Run?

Will the return of Tua and playing at home be enough to lift Alabama to the win? That’s hard to say, but it will certainly help, as we see them as 6.5-point favorites. It also seems they are producing NFL-quality running backs every year, the latest being Najee Harris, who is averaging six yards per carry, rushing for 642 total with five scores. Jerry Jeudy and Devonta Smith have caught just about every pass that has come their way this year, while the O-Line has mostly kept the QBs upright.

Look for Terrell Lewis and his team-leading six sacks to make a statement in this game, bringing immense pressure to Burrow. Trevon Diggs and Jared Martin both poise significant threats in the secondary for Alabama.

LSU Gets The Road Victory

Make sure to ride with Burrow! He’s ready. He’ll outduel Tua as he powers his team to a 9-0 record and basically clinches their spot in the SEC Championship Game.
