Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat Game 3 Betting Preview

The Lakers are set to try and take a 3-0 lead on the Heat inside of the Orlando bubble. But to the non-Laker supporters, a Miami win is critical in this one. Because of the Lakers go up 3-0, we may have just one NBA game left for the season.

It’s been a remarkable experience to see all the games unfold. After so many months without basketball, the year is reaching its conclusion, but the basketball gods don’t seem to favor a long series this time. Miami has suffered through various injuries, as the Lakers have staked their claim as the favorites.

The Heat played as hard as they could without Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo last game and may have to do it again. They are a resilient, tough bunch.

There is no way they could have made it this far if they weren’t, so they just need to continue to grind and hope they can come away with a win. Because if they are unable to, this will be the second to last basketball preview you read in 2020.

ODDS:

The spread for Game 3 favors LA by 9.5, the same as Game 2. The over/under is 219.5.

Lakers Eye 3-0 Lead

Halfway to winning this series, LA wants to keep it going. Anthony Davis was nearly unstoppable in Game 2, making 14 of his first 16 shots, from all over the floor.

Aside from one impressive block by Kendrick Nunn, nobody could even come close to slowing him down. And when it wasn’t Davis, it was LeBron James.

He finished with 33-9-9 and zero turnovers, a Finals line last achieved by Laker great Magic Johnson. It also helped that Rajon Rondo was making it rain as if he was doing it for his whole career. His new ability to knock the three down is a game-changer for the Lakers.

Dwight Howard got them off to a good start after a silent Game 1, his size causing problems for Meyers Leonard and Kelly Olynyk. He’ll hope to keep it going.

Heat Looking to Dig Deep

It will take every ounce of strength that they have to come away with a win tonight. But Miami believes in their ability.

If they could have just gotten a few more threes from Duncan Robinson, perhaps the result would have been different in game 2. Realistically, it was their inability to get stops after scores in the second half that cost them the game.

For all of the free throws they made, and Jimmy Butler assists, the Lakers kept coming back at them. They have to figure out a scheme that works because LA is torching them when they go zone. Leave it to a two-time championship winner in Erik Spoelstra to continue to be creative for them.

The Heat won’t quit until they are eliminated. And they’ll hope to make it a 2-1 series, making it hard for the Lakers.

Heat Keep It Tight

The Lakers won’t win by double-digits in this one. It’s going to be much closer and will require crunch-time success for a win.
