Kentucky Wildcats at Vanderbilt Commodores Betting Pick and Prediction

This has been a terrific season for the Wildcats so far, and it truly never seems to matter who they lose to graduation, or the pros, as they come back strong each time. John Calipari does a tremendous job with his guys.

The same cannot be said of the Commodores this year, as they are now under .500 and struggling to win games. They don’t have a great defense, and Bryce Drew isn’t doing too well.

Kentucky:

Keldon Johnson, who is looking like a legitimate NBA prospect, is leading the team with 15 points per game this year, shooting over 51% from the floor. Tyler Herro is averaging 13 and hitting a high % of his threes. Reid Travis is scoring 13 a night as well, while PJ Washington is averaging 13 points and eight boards. A big key to this team’s early success and high national ranking has been the fact they have so many guys who can put the ball in the basket, and double-teams fail to slow them down. It’s an impressive group of guys.

PJ Washington, along with EJ Montgomery and Nick Richards, have been combining to average almost four blocks per game. This is something they will be looking to showcase in this game, and will likely be able to do. This group of guys is one that could still be standing when we reach the Elite Eight, and Final Four when all is said and done.

Vanderbilt:

They are the 119th highest-scoring team in the nation, and are #217 in points against. Darius Garland, who has a lot of NBA potential, has left the team to start preparing for the draft after only appearing in five games. He had been averaging 16 points per game and made 12 of his 25 threes, and he is sorely missed by this bunch as he was supposed to be the leader. Saben Lee has been scoring it well at 13.4 per game, with Simisola Shittu leading the team in rebounding and proving to be a valuable scorer.

They do rank #4 in the SEC in free-throw attempts, but there aren’t many other categories that they are thriving in. It’s hard to say what this team can do in order to beat Kentucky this evening, but if their top guys can get to their spots and make their shots, they just might be able to cover the spread, which would be the best hope for this team in regards to this game.

Kentucky comes away victorious, improves to 17-3

The Wildcats will win, and folks, they are going to cover the spread. Kentucky -9.5 is the look, Chief. PJ Washington and Keldon Johnson are both going to have big-time performances tonight, to help power the team to another win.

This is a night where Vanderbilt wishes they had Darius Garland around.
