Houston Rockets at Miami Heat Betting Preview

Coming into action, Houston and Miami each picked up a win the prior day. The Rockets were able to knock off the Magic despite John Wall having a rest day. And in a game where Kevin Durant went out four minutes in, the Heat beat the Rockets on a Bam Adebayo buzzer-beater. They both look to make it two wins in as many days.

It has been a weird year for Kevin Porter Jr., but he has looked good during his time with the Rockets. The falling out in Cleveland has clearly not hurt his career too badly, as he landed in a place where he is able to grow with the team. There is a lot to still be figured out in Houston, given that the team is just 4-32 in their past 36 games. But, they are 1-0 in their last one.

Miami is still hovering on the .500 threshold but may have some work to do if they are trying to secure home court. Both Atlanta and New York are doing a lot of winning, while Miami is just towing the win-loss line pretty narrowly. They need to go on another win streak down the stretch to both avoid the play-in and get an opportunity to host a playoff series. Good luck.

Odds: The spread for the game is favoring Miami -10. The over/under is set at 217 points.

Rockets Seek Second Win in a Row

The Rockets were 11-10 at one point this season. They looked like the playoffs could still come calling despite a total roster teardown from the 2019-20 year. They managed to trade James Harden, and Victor Oladipo was hot when he first got to Houston. It was clear, though, that he didn’t want to be there, and the team flipped him over to the Heat at the deadline.

Jae’Sean Tate has been having a strong rookie year, while Christian Wood and Kelly Olynyk seem to be playing well off one another. The bench is pretty much decimated at this point, but there are some good pieces here. As soon as John Wall is able to play in every game and stay healthy, big things could be ahead.

Let’s see if they can beat Miami.

Miami Seeks Thirtieth Win

29-28 is not where the Heat envisioned themselves at this point. Jimmy Butler is having a career year, and the team is a little retooled. But all of the losing has come as a surprise, as they try and figure everything out. They can smile after beating a Nets team down two stars on the Bam buzzer-beater, though.

The game plan for beating Houston is a little different. Just defend with aggression and force turnovers. The Rockets still make plenty of mistakes on the basketball court, and they have the record they do for a reason. Make life tough, and just play your own brand of basketball. That’s the best thing they can do.

Heat Win Big

Yeah, sorry Rockets. Not today. Miami will win big.
