Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks Game 4 Betting Preview

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks Game 4 Betting Preview

The 2022 NBA Playoffs resume on Tuesday, May 24, with Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between Golden State and Dallas.

The Warriors are one game away from reaching the NBA Finals in 2022, while the Mavericks look to stay alive in the series. For Game 4 at American Airlines Center, the Mavericks are 1.5 -point favorites, with a total of 215.5 points.

Warriors Dominant in First Three Games

The Golden State Warriors are one win away from making their sixth appearance in the NBA Finals in the last eight years. They defeated the Mavericks 109-100 on the road on Sunday to take a 3-0 series lead.

Golden State looked phenomenal offensively, with Steph Curry leading the team with a double-double, scoring 31 points, and dishing out 11 assists. Klay Thompson added 19 points, and Andrew Wiggins added 27 points and 11 rebounds.

The Warriors dominated the offensive glass with 14 offensive rebounds, and they outscored the Mavericks 46-34 in the paint and hit 46.9% of their field goals. In Game 3, Golden State’s defense was also outstanding, limiting the Mavericks to just 100 points and an abysmal 28.9 shooting percentage from three. Overall, the Warriors are holding the Mavericks to just 101.3 points per game.

Golden State has been able to cruise to victory thanks to a loaded offensive threat led by Stephen Curry, averaging 27.1 points per game, while Thompson has averaged 19.5 points per game, Jordan Poole has 18.9 points per game, and Wiggins has averaged 15.9.

In the playoffs, they’ve shot 49.3 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three. They will look to finish off the Mavericks on the road and get plenty of rest for the NBA Finals.

Dallas Looks to Avoid Sweep

A Game 3 victory at home would have been ideal for the Dallas Mavericks, but the Warriors were simply too good as they outshot, outrebounded, and outplayed the Mavericks on their own home court. For that reason, the Mavericks now find themselves in a huge hole down three games in the series.

Dallas looked atrocious offensively back at home as they only made 40% of their shots in Game 3, including only 28.9% from long range. Dallas was annihilated in the paint once more, losing the rebounding battle by 14.

Luka Doncic was the lone bright spot as he scored 40 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists in Game 3, following his 42-point performance in Game 2. Spencer Dinwiddie scored 26 points, and Jalen Brunson added 20, but the rest of the team was ineffective.

Both Reggie Bullock and Maxi Kleber were held scoreless, shooting a combined 0-for-15 from the field.

Dallas has relied heavily on Luka Doncic this season, and they will need more of the same from him if they are to win any more games. Doncic has averaged 32.1 points per game in the playoffs, while Brunson has averaged 22.7, and Dinwiddie has averaged 13.7.

They also have a 44.5 percent field goal percentage and a 37.3 percent three-point percentage.

Warriors/Mavericks Betting Prediction

The Mavericks will attempt to become the first club in NBA playoff history to overcome a 3-0 hole, but given their performance in the previous three games, it is unlikely.

Dallas is having trouble dealing with the Warriors’ frontcourt while its role players continue to struggle to shoot and defend the Warriors’ fast-paced offense.

The Warriors, on the other hand, have plenty of experience and should win Game 4 to earn some more rest days.

So far in this series, their defense has overpowered the Mavericks and having a home-court advantage didn’t faze the Warriors whatsoever. I’m not sure how the Warriors aren’t favored in this one; it could get ugly for Dallas really quick.
