Cardinals Struggles are Mighty

Earlier this month, the Louisville Cardinals went to Miami and upset the Hurricanes. The team had hoped that would be a jumpstart for a solid month, but three straight losses and they sit at 6-12 on the season. In those three losses, the Cardinals allowed 88.3 points per game. On the season, the defense is one of the worst in all of College Basketball, allowing nearly 78 points per game.

Offensively, Mike James leads the team with 14.1 points per game. Ty-Laur Johnson runs the point for the Cardinals, and is dishing out 3.5 assists per game. The Cardinals are one of the worst rebounding teams with 35.2 per game, and even worse, ranking 371st in assists, with 11.5 per game.

The Cardinals are set to host the Virginia Cavaliers on January 28th, and then head out on the road for a trip to Clemson on January 30th. Louisville will start February with a home game against Florida State.

Blue Devils Seeking Bounce Back

Jared McCain scored 20 and Kyle Filipowski added 19, but it was not enough as Pittsburgh came to town and beat the Duke Blue Devils. It was the first loss for the Blue Devils since their road loss back on December 2nd to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Filipowski leads the team in scoring with more than 18 points per game. He is also adding more than 8 rebounds per game. Jeremy Roach is next for the Blue Devils with 14.6 per game, while McCain is third with 12.2 per game. The Blue Devils as a team are scoring 81.6 points per game, making more than 48% of their shots.

Duke will host the Clemson Tigers on Saturday, and then head out to Virginia Tech on Monday. The big game for the Blue Devils to start February is slated for February 3rd at North Carolina. That will be the first of two meetings, as the Tar Heels come back to town on March 9th.

Cardinals Compete at Home

While Duke is going to win this game, Louisville is going to compete. The 14.5 points seems like too many. We are going to take Louisville to cover the spread. Our final bet for this game is the Louisville Cardinals +14.5 over the Duke Blue Devils on Tuesday!
