Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Clippers Betting Preview

The Mavericks hope to take their revenge on the Clippers in game two of their opening-round series in Orlando, FL.

The Mavs are still yet to win a playoff series since winning the NBA Finals, a fact that has gone unnoticed by the masses. As good as they were with Dirk, they got their title and all, but have done nothing since. They have their next great duo led by the star Europeans Luka and Kristaps. The future of the franchise is certainly in good hands.

And for the Clippers, a team that has never reached the conference finals, it is title or bust for them this year. With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the roster, the expectations are through the roof. Leonard has won two titles with two teams, while George has not advanced past the opening round of the playoffs since before his gruesome leg injury.

We’ll see how the game goes down, but if game one was any indication, we are in for another great game.

ODDS FOR GAME 2:

The Clippers are 6.5-point favorites tonight, the over/under set at 230.5.

 Mavs Try to Avoid 0-2

Perhaps they feel more motivated after watching both #8 seeds come away with wins against the Bucks and Lakers yesterday. Though they took the loss against LA in game one, they fought as hard as possible and did it without Porzingis for most of the second half. Luka went off, finishing with 42, and setting numerous records in the process.

This is a fantastic offense for the first 40-42 minutes of games. They score the ball at a historic rate. But when it comes to crunch time, they rank 29 out of 30 teams in efficiency, and that was where the first game was lost.

If they are hoping to change history in the craziest basketball season yet, they will need to lock in early.

Doncic has to be exhausted after carrying his team for an entire game, but there is just no rest for the weary.

 LA Looking for 2-0 Lead

Surprisingly, the Clippers are the only LA team with a 1-0 series lead. Their in-state rival LA Lakers were unable to hold off the Portland TrailBlazers at the end. As the #2 seed with two of the best players in the league, there is a lot of pressure on them. But there is no question that this team is built for it.

Patrick Beverley, who logged just 10 minutes due to foul trouble in the first three quarters, knocked down multiple threes and picked up several loose balls to extend possessions. He was the catalyst in their success.

They have got a great depth chart, and are finally at full strength. Montrezl Harrell struggled, but he should be able to get more minutes today. And we’ll see if they go small with Marcus Morris at the center spot again.

Mavs Steal Game Two

Doncic is determined and Porzingis will not be ejected. They have film from game one to watch, now. It is a long series, and Dallas will get it done tonight.
