Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

The Cowboys will be in Philly on Sunday night to face the Eagles in an NFC East battle. The winner of this game will be in first place by the end of the day, in a division that nobody seems to want to win.

Given that the NFL is constantly flexing games in and out of primetime, it is a big surprise that this one was left alone. The Cowboys will start their third QB in three weeks as rookie Ben DiNucci prepares for his start in the pros. The team’s backup, Garrett Gilbert, has thrown just six passes in the league.

Philly is coming off their second win of the year, as they knocked off the Giants on Thursday night last week. This will be their second consecutive game in primetime, and they’ll be short-handed once more. On the bright side, rookie receiver Jalen Reagor will return and hopefully give the short-handed Eagles a sort of boost.

Look for several lesser-name players to make a splash in this one and gain popularity in various fantasy leagues.

ODDS:

The Eagles are overwhelming favorites, slated to win by 11.5 points. The over/under is set at 42.5.

Cowboys Looking to Move Back into First

At 2-5, the Cowboys are looking like anything but America’s team. They have lost several players to injuries, and those out there haven’t performed to expectations. As soon as Dak Prescott went down, you just knew that things might not recover at all in 2020 for them.

They’re waiving defensive starters left and right after they were unable to find trade partners. And now a rookie QB who played at James Madison for the last two years is making his first start. The receivers have struggled since Dak Prescott went down, which does not bode very well for Dallas this week.

Given that they have had a hard time putting points on the board in the last few weeks, whoever is left on defense will need to pull it together against Philly.

Eagles Looking for Consecutive Wins

No matter how pretty or ugly, a win is still a win at the end of the day. And that’s what Philadelphia had against the Giants. They’ll hope to take down Dallas and improve to 3-4-1. In what has been an up-and-down year for Carson Wentz, the team has rallied around him several times.

They drafted Jalen Hurts in the second round, despite being tied to Wentz for the next several years. Whether or not it affects this season is to be determined, but the choice was very interesting.

Wentz will be relying heavily on Boston Scott again, thrust once more into RB1 duties with Miles Sanders on IR. Scott totaled 92 yards on 15 touches last week, good for about six yards per carry. Look for him and Travis Fulgham to lead the way.

Eagles Win Big

Sorry Ben DiNucci, but this debut holds nothing positive for you. A huge win is coming for the Eagles, who stay atop the NFC (L)East.
