College Football Week 7 Wrap Up

The College Football season wrapped up the Week 7 slate. We saw some wild finishes and a few teams losing games they should not have lost. Let’s take a look at some of the highlighted results of Week 7 in College Football.

Fighting Irish Whip Trojans

Caleb Williams threw three interceptions in the first half, and this game was all Notre Dame from start to finish. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish only needed 126 passing yards from Sam Hartman, as their defense did all the heavy work.

Audric Estime was solid for the Irish with 22 carries, 95 yards, and two scores. The loss was the first for the Trojans on the season and sent them well down the Top 25 rankings.

Top Ranked Bulldogs Lose Bowers; Win Game

The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs once again started slow but came away with a 37-20 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. The loss for the Bulldogs was their top target, Brock Bowers, who left with an ankle injury.

The Bulldogs are now 7-0 on the season and now have back-to-back home games against Missouri and Ole Miss before they go on the road to face a challenging Volunteers squad.

Big Ten Leaders Roll

The Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Penn State Nittany Lions were all big winners on Saturday. All three teams remained unbeaten on the season. Michigan and Ohio State won Big Ten games.

The Wolverines smacked Indiana 52-7, Ohio State drilled Purdue on the road 41-7, and Penn State went out of the Big Ten to blank UMass 63-0. This sets up a massive game on Saturday in Columbus. The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes get together in a Top 10 battle.

Florida State Remains Unbeaten

The Florida State Seminoles continues to shine with a 41-3 win at home over the Syracuse Orange. Jordan Travis was solid once again, with 284 yards, a passing touchdown, and two touchdowns on the ground in the game.

The Seminoles held Syracuse to just a field goal in the second quarter to win the game. That win sets up a big game against Duke in Week 8 of the season.

Washington Wins Thriller over Oregon

One of the biggest winners of the day was the Washington Huskies. They came from behind late in the game to beat the Oregon Ducks 36-33.

Michael Penix Jr and Bo Nix were both solid in the game, with Penix tossing four touchdown passes while Nix went for 337 yards in the game. Bucky Irving, the Oregon running back, had a big game as well with 127 yards and a score in the game.

The win for the Huskies kept them unbeaten, and now the lone team in the Pac-12 with no losses on the season. In conference play, Washington and USC are both at the top with no losses. Those two teams play on November 4th in Southern California.

Tar Heels Remain Unbeaten

A team that not many are talking about – the North Carolina Tar Heels. After trailing 17-14 at halftime at home to Miami, the Tar Heels scored 21 points in the third quarter to take control of the game. North Carolina finished the game with a 41-31 win.

Drake May threw for four touchdowns in the win. For Miami, Tyler Van Dyke tossed the ball all over the field, with nearly 400 yards and four touchdowns.

Week 8 may be the best slate of games we have seen all season in College Football. Check back later this week for a look at the games on the slate, and get your picks ready for the big weekend.
