One of the biggest boxing events of the calendar year is coming this weekend from Las Vegas when the biggest star in boxing, Canelo Alvarez, meets undisputed light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo in the ring on Saturday night.
Charlo is moving up two weight classes to challenge Canelo for his undisputed super middleweight belts in what would be a historic night for boxing if he can pull it off. We will get to witness yet another massive moment for Canelo as he looks to add to his long resume of undefeated champions he has beaten.

Canelo Alvarez – Are His Best Days Behind Him?

He’s coming up from two weight classes down, but let’s not forget that Canelo is not that big, and he has gained a lot of size in recent years. Charlo is the same age as Canelo, but he is much younger in boxing years due to how many fewer rounds he’s been in.
The athleticism and self-confidence of Charlo will be his biggest weapon on Saturday night. If Charlo can start fast and steal rounds, he also has the cardio to be able to have more output in the later rounds than his opponent. He is going to give Canelo a very tough fight and be in the mix for all 12 rounds unless a flash KO happens.
