The Brooklyn Nets will travel to the Windy City on Friday night and take on the Chicago Bulls. Both teams have been playing decent basketball, but with the new-look Brooklyn Nets, we never know what we’re going to get out of the squad. They’ve proven throughout their first few games as a team that they can still be competitive, and that’s something that Chicago has to watch out for in this one.
If the Bulls don’t come out and do everything that they can to win this game, this one will end up in a Nets win. The Nets are simply too good to roll over on, and the books recognize that. Brooklyn comes in at +2 on the spread line.

When looking at what the Chicago Bulls have done this season, it’s easy to see why this team has struggled, and some people are a bit down on them. They come in at 26-33 and are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference. This is not going to be the recipe for success for Chicago if they want to make a playoff push, as they’ve lost their last six games and are just 3-7 in their last 10.
Although the Bulls have had to deal with some injuries throughout the year, there’s no debate that this team should be much better. They came into the season expecting to be a legit playoff team, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to be the case this season.
Will Brooklyn Play Well After the Break?
The Brooklyn Nets decided to trade Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Now, they look to be a much different team than they once were. It’s going to be an interesting transition for the Nets, but if one thing is going to be true, this team is going to play hard every single night, and that’s been evident throughout their first few games.
They took on the same Bulls team with their new squad before the All-Star break and ended up coming away with an 11-point win. They were able to do anything they want defensively in that game, as DeMar DeRozan had just 14 points. Furthermore, Spencer Dinwiddie finished with 25, and Cam Thomas dropped another 20.
If they can get the same type of production from those guys, they will find themselves in a good spot on Friday night.
It could be a bit different this time around as the game was played in Brooklyn in their win. However, Chicago hasn’t necessarily been the best home team this season, as they’re just 16 – 13 on their home court.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Chicago Bulls Prediction
Due to this game being in Chicago, the books believe that the Bulls could come away with the win on their home court. However, this Chicago team just simply hasn’t been good this season, and it looks like there might even be some issues in the locker room. Because of that, it doesn’t seem like it’s a bad idea to take the Nets to win this game outright.
If Brooklyn can come out and continue doing what they did before the break, this is a very winnable game for them as they continue to try to secure a playoff spot as the number five seed in the Eastern Conference.
