Boston Celtics at Brooklyn Nets Game 2 Betting Preview

Game 2 is here, and the wait felt like forever. Brooklyn and Boston will meet at Barclays Center on Tuesday night in front of 13,000 screaming Brooklynites. The game will be another fun one, and it’s great that the crowd can be part of it. Boston got very little contributions from its key players in game one, and it cost them dearly.

The big surprise from the series opener was the effort of Rob Williams III. He blocked nine(!) shots in 23 minutes off the bench, quite literally deterring every Nets player from trying to score. He even rejected a KD three-pointer off an iso possession. If he can continue to play like that, and the other guys can deliver strong performances around him, they might have a chance here.

Brooklyn meanwhile will look to lock in a little earlier than the last game. They took a long time to get going, Boston controlling things in the early going. It is a series the Nets should win, but every game will be a battle. Jaylen Brown or not, the Celts always play hard. They are a group you have to be ready for, and though the Nets have the best trio in the game, they have to step up.

Betting Odds

The spread for game two is set at BKN -9.5. The over/under is 227 points.

Boston Seeking Road Win

A loss here and the Nets would lead the series 2-0. If that becomes the case, a comeback would be highly unlikely. Things need to turn around pretty fast for these guys, and it has to start with their superstar. Jayson Tatum did not make a basket over the final 30 minutes of game one. That is the recipe for an ultimate disaster.

Kemba Walker shot it horribly, and the fact that they had to lean on Jabari Parker for some offense is a telling sign of where the team stands. Smart was shooting it well and playing his usual D, but he should not have had to carry them like that. They need more production like from what they get at the center position.

They have a chance, but they have to limit the three ball for 48 minutes, not just 24.

Brooklyn Seeking 2-0 Lead

One more win, and the Nets will be closer to advancing in the playoffs. It has been quite a while since we have seen the team advance. Back in the days of Joe Johnson and those guys. If they can get things done, the would be halfway there, and can probably take the show on the road.

Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and James Harden. It seems unfair that they all play together, but it is quite fair. The rapport is definitely getting stronger, and as it does, the team will become harder to beat. They have the edge at every position except for center, so if they can get better play there, it’s over. Just like that.

Brooklyn Goes Up 2-0

The Nets will cover the spread and win again. 2-0!
