We should have one of the more lopsided NHL games of the night as the Boston Bruins will travel to Chicago and take on the Chicago Blackhawks. The Bruins have undoubtedly been the best team in hockey this season, while the Blackhawks have arguably been the worst. The Blackhawks currently have the least amount of points in the Western Conference, tied with the San Jose Sharks at 50.
Boston, on the other hand, easily has the most points in the NHL this season with 105. They’ve already locked up a playoff position as they were the first team in the league to do so. There’s a reason why this team has a legitimate chance at winning a Stanley Cup.
Coming into this one, the Bruins are currently at -450 favorites on the moneyline and -180 on the puck line.
Will Boston Get Back on Track?
Taking the Boston Bruins to win games is always a good idea. Despite the fact that this team just lost to a below-average Detroit Red Wings team in their most recent game, it’s easy to see why they should be able to balance back against arguably the worst team in the NHL. The Bruins have studs all over the ice including David Pastrnak, Pavel Zacha, Jake DeBrusk, and a ton of others.
They seriously have guys that might be able to win them a Stanley Cup on any given night. At any point in the game, these guys can take over and make big plays for Boston. Their inability to keep the puck out of the back of the net is also one of the things that this team does well.
When looking around at the NHL this season, there might not be a more complete team than Boston and that has been proven by their 103-point differential. They will need to continue dominating as the Blackhawks will come out and try to win this game.
Boston typically doesn’t take many nights off in terms of playing down to their opponents, so it shouldn’t be surprising to see them win this game.
Blackhawks Will Need to Play Hard?
The Chicago Blackhawks are one of the more interesting teams in the NHL this season. Although people did expect that they were going to struggle a bit, this team is young, and they do have a chance of figuring it out in the near future. They’re coming off tough losses against the Red Wings, Panthers, and Lightning.
They have wins on the season against teams like the Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, Las Vegas Golden Knights, and others. They’ve proven on certain nights that they can beat high-level teams, which is something that the Bruins need to watch out for here.

Although the Blackhawks are one of those teams that do pose a threat to some of the top teams in the NHL because they have nothing to lose when they’re out there, this is a game that the Bruins should easily come away with.
The line is telling us that they should as they’re such big favorites. Because of that, playing the Bruins at -1.5 for -180 odds isn’t a bad idea. If you want to get interesting, taking them to win by -1.5 in regulation might be a better play.
