Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers Betting Preview

Atlanta takes the show on the road to Wisconsin, where a must-win game is awaiting them. Dan Quinn nearly lost his job a year ago, but it’s pretty clear now they made a mistake keeping him. They are as effective as any offense in the league, and yet they are 0-3, and the defense has been atrocious.

They have lost two games this year in which their win probability, per the metrics, was over 99%. Two of them!

Keep in mind that this is only the fourth game of the season ahead. Matt Ryan’s MVP-type of start is being completely ignored because of a lack of results.

Green Bay, on the other hand, has been truly incredible to start the year. They are averaging 40 points per game, the run game serving as a fantastic complement to what Aaron Rodgers has been doing. Injuries to receivers has done nothing to slow Rodgers as he continues to sling the ball all over the field.

The schedule hasn’t been hard for Green Bay, but they are beating the teams on the schedule with authority.

ODDS:

The spread for Monday’s showdown favors the Packers by 7 points. The over/under is set at 57.

Falcons Search for First Win

Ryan has thrown for over 950 yards and seven touchdowns through the first two games of the season. He’s got several great targets to throw to, as the front office has done a great job of diversifying that group. Todd Gurley has even been somewhat formidable as their starting running back.

But they couldn’t even stop an elderly citizen from breaking into a barn. That is how bad their effort on the defensive end has been.

They have allowed the three opposing QB’s they have faced to throw for 1,051 yards and nine touchdowns. And they are allowing an additional 113 rushing yards per contest.

It’s hard to believe this team was in the Super Bowl just a few years ago. Still feeling the effects of 28-3, it seems.

Pack Looking at 4-0

Since taking over for Mike McCarthy, Matt LaFleur has coached Green Bay to a 16-3 regular-season record. The schemes are working, Rodgers is continuing to limit turnovers, and Aaron Jones is still a beast.

They have allowed two of their opponents to score 30+ points, but all that mattered was the result. While Atlanta does the same thing, they can’t win when they do like the Packers can. Monday’s game is going to feature a whole lot of explosive offense out there.

Green Bay lost last week’s star, Allen Lazard, for this game and several more with recent injuries. We’ll see who else has to step up in the case that Davante Adams is out again.

Packers Drop ATL to 0-4

The early-season patterns will hold up. Green Bay will win to be 4-0 and Atlanta will keep the losses coming.
