Associated Press Top 25 College Football Poll Released

The College Football season is less than two weeks away from starting, and the Associated Press Top 25 poll was released this week. Of course, the Georgia Bulldogs are the top team in the country, as they seek their third straight National Champion. Let’s take a look at the entire Associated Press Top 25 College Football Poll.

The Georgia Bulldogs are the first team from the SEC. Kirby Smart and his Bulldogs smacked TCU a season ago to win their second straight National Title. Now, Georgia will get after it with a new quarterback under center with Stetson Bennett gone to the National Football League. They will host Tennessee-Martin to start the season.

Rounding out the Top 5

Second on the Top 25 poll is Coach Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines. The Big Ten Champions of a season ago fell to TCU in the College Football Playoff Semi Final by a secore of 51-45. The Wolverines have a ton returning, so high hopes are in Ann Arbor. Michigan hosts East Carolina in Week 1.

Third, is another Big Ten team. The Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State also fell in the College Football Semi Final, 42-41 to the Georgia Bulldogs. Ryan Day and his Buckeyes will play a Big Ten affair to start the season. Ohio State is at Indiana.

Fourth on the list is the Alabama Crimson Tide. Roll Tide. The Crimson Tide, led by head coach Nick Saban blasted Kansas State to finish their season a year ago. The Crimson Tide will take on Middle Tennessee State to open 2023. Rounding out the Top 5 is the LSU Tigers. Brian Kelly and the Tigers play one of the best Week 1 games, as they head to Orlando to take on Florida State.

Closing up the Top 10

To finish out the Top 10 – the USC Trojans come in at #6. Lincoln Riley and Heisman winner and front runner Caleb Williams would love to close their PAC12 careers out strong. The Trojans lost in a thriller on January 2nd to close out last season. They will host the Spartans of San Jose State to start 2023.

Coming in at 7th is the Penn State Nittany Lions. James Franklin has the third team in the Big Ten in the rankings. The Nittany Lions were solid all of last season, and finished with a 35-21 win over Utah to wrap their season up. The Nittany Lions will take on West Virginia at home to open the new season. 8th in the rankings is the Florida State Seminoles.

There is a lot of hype for the boys from Tallahassee this season. Jordan Travis and his team will look to extend their strong play at the end of last season, which ended in a win over Oklahoma in 2023. The Seminoles take on LSU in Orlando to start the season.

9th and 10th on the list are the Clemson Tigers and the Washington Huskies. Clemson is the second Atlantic Coast Conference team, and Washington is second from the PAC12. The Tigers will play at Duke to open the season, while Washington gets a visit from Boise State to open the season.

Finishing Up the Top 25 Poll

Rounding out the Top 25 starts with North Carolina at 21. The Tar Heels, led by Mack Brown are ahead of Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss at 22, along with Texas A+M, Tulane and Iowa.
