The World Series of Poker online poker room operates in two different markets in the US, one in New Jersey and one in Nevada. The size of the markets are quite different with New Jersey having the bulk of the WSOP player base. The WSOP kicks off today and along with the live event, players will have access to online gaming as well. According to a recent Pokerfuse report, the upcoming WSOP.com Online Championship Series will take place in both areas, and will have the exact same schedule, format, basically every aspect will be the exact same.
Players who are located in Nevada will be able to experience the same gaming options in the Online Championship Series as a player in the state of New Jersey, when visiting WSOP.com. The WSOP will be offering fifteen days of game play, starting on the 1st of June, to provide fifteen events for the Online Championship Series. Each event will have a guaranteed prize pool which will total more than $500,000 in prize money, for both states series.
Basically, if you are playing in either state, you would experience the exact same gaming environment. Each event will have the same format and guarantee and the WSOP will also be offering each winner of the first 14 events a bonus with a free entry into the $200k guaranteed Main Event which takes place on June 15th.
The events of the online poker series will be limited to regulated options which includes Omaha and Hold’em. The events will take place at the same time as the 2014 World Series of Poker and should see steady traffic as players arrive in Nevada to take part in the 65 gold bracelet events. This will be the first year that players have the option of competing in online game play during the WSOP since the state regulated online poker game play, so it will be interesting to see how many players take part.
