WPT WOC Mix-Max Championship: Kotelnikov Wins

Andrey Kotelnikov, a Russian poker player, managed to take down a World Poker Tour World Online Championships event hosted on partypoker. It was Event #6: Mix-Max Championship, where Kotenlikov received a hefty prize of $488,508 for his achievement.

His final opponent was a player from the UK, Stuart Guite, who started the final table as short-stacked but managed to fight his way through to face Kotelnikov in the heads-up play. Nevertheless, he had to settle for second place and the consolation prize of $366,605.

A total of 989 players were recorded in this event, and Kotelnikov was the one to emerge a winner, receiving additional rewards for his success. First of all, he was presented with a Hublot Classic Fusion Titanium watch, and his name was added to the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup. After that, he received an entry for a $15,000 WPT Tournament of Champions.

The Final Table Action

The final table of this event was important for several reasons, and one of them was the presence of Oleg Vasylchenko, who is a WPT champion. He started the final table as a chip leader, with more than 23.5 million in chips, as opposed to the second-placed player at that point, Jerry Won, who had 16.6 million.

The start of the final table saw Kotelnikov somewhere in the middle of the pack, with 12.5 million chips. The only two people below him were Dimitar Danchev (11.8 million) and Stuart Guite (5.7 million).

However, Kotelnikov was determined to win this event and emerged on top by the end of the final table action.

Stuart Guite managed to double up early on and continued to increase his stack size in hands to come. The first player to hit the rail in the final table was Jerry Wong from Canada, who won a total of $69,300 for his effort.

The next one to follow was Dimitar Danchev from Bulgaria, who had to settle for the sixth place and $89,016 as a prize. After that, it was time for Maciej Gasior from the UK to leave the final table, winning a total of $124,500 along the way.

Oleg Visylchenko then hit the rail, as he lost a hand to Andrey Kotelnikov, who as very determined to emerge to the top of the final table list. The former WPT champion had to settle for fourth place and the total prize of $190,500.

After him, it was time for Sven Joakim Andersson from Sweden to say goodbye to the final table, and leave the final two players to battle for the biggest prize. Andersson won a total of $271,903.

At the start of the heads-up, Kotelnikov already had more than twice as many chips as Guite, with 115 BBs. On the other hand, Guite had 48 BBs.

However, the player from the UK did not give up easily, so the chip lead started swinging back and forth. Yet, Kotelnikov was more determined to win and ended up becoming the winner of this online event.
