Team USA World Cup of Poker Champions

Team USA wins the PokerStars World Cup of Poker. As it seems with any great win in poker it took great skill, impeccable timing and of course a good dose of lady luck.

Team USA consisted of Shaun Deeb, John Kenlan, Randy Principe, Tyler Netter and their poker professional team mate, Greg Raymer. They beat seven other teams from Canada, Ireland, Romania, Iceland, Mexico, Germany and Portugal. Only four, Canada, Iceland, Romania and the U.S. made it to the finals which was a short handed sit-n-go format with player substitutions a forced requirement.

It was team Canada leaving the finals first followed by team Iceland. This left the World Cup of Poker title to be decided between team USA and team Romania.

The final hand was full of excitement with Cristian Tardea of team Romania being very aggressive. Shaun Deeb of team USA raise with AQ and Tardea re-raised all in with J8. Deeb called and the flop was 4-K-10. And A on the turn gave team Romania a slight chance on a straight draw but the river was a blank making team USA World Cup of Poker champions.
