Sergio “zcedrick” Aido stunned his supporters when he won a recent $5,200 buy-in World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) World Championship event. The poker pro took home 4138,089 and is the fourth World Champion in the WCOOP series after “Chilloloni” (HORSE), “alligator14” (Badugi), and Ole “wizowizo” Schemion (PKO NLHE).

Action at the Final Table
The 6-Max NLHE World Championship attracted 168 players who formed an $840,000 prize pool. But, only the last 19 entrants won money.
“Grozzorg” from Austria left the tournament in 20th position hence bursting the bubble. A seven-handed final table was formed late on Day 1. Some of the players who made money but failed to reach the table included Pascal “Pass 72” Lefrancois, Eelis “EEE27” Parssinen, Patrick “pads1161” Leonard, and Fabiano “Kovalskil” Kovalski.
Thomas “WushuTM” Muehloecker got busted first at the final table. He had one small blind left after making a three-bet shove using king-jack straight into Ronan “Sw33ney” Sweeney’s pocket aces.
Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro soon got in Muehloecker’s spot after losing most of his big blinds. He had 2.5 big blinds left after “Sintoras” pocket tens beat his ace-nine while battling for blinds. The former’s run continued for several hands before Aido’s ace-queen defeated his pocket eights after hitting a straight Broadway.
Sintoras’ exit left four players at the table. He had less than 10 big blinds left after using a jack-try of hearts to make a small blind open-shove but lost to Sweeney’s king-seven. Besides, Sweeney followed him shortly when he moved the remaining 20 big blinds as “alberto.m7” raised from under the gun.
The raiser called before flipping an ace-jack that dominated Sweeney’s ace-ten. None of them improved their hand. Yet, alberto.m7‘s jack-kicker played and three players remained.
The trio played several hands and later paused the event to negotiate a deal. They agreed on an ICM deal that assured the champion of earning $7,500.
Alex “FutureofMe” Kuley left the table in third place and benefited from the deal as he earned $126,382 instead of the initial $98,631. His rivals doubled through him and Aido used the second pair seven-kicker to make a hero call.
Aido got a 9,772,616:7,027,384 chip lead over alberto.m7. the former used king-queen to raise 2.5 big blinds to 250,000 in the final hand, while the latter used six-five offsuit to call. alberto.m7 check-called Aido’s 173,250 continuation wager after an ace-jack-five flop.
He rechecked after a king appeared on the turn as Aido checked. An ace on the river prompted alberto.m7 to check and Aido played a 435,750 wager. But, the former check-raised 5,787,884 all-in using a bottom pair.
Aido called the shove and later realized he had the right hand. alberto.m7 won $132,997 after being the runner-up, while Aido took the title home and $139,089.

marjan123, a Slovenian poker player, won $266,306, the largest 2022 WCOOP prize, after beating more than 91 players in the No. 34-H:$10,300 NLHE Progressive KO. Patrick “thebigdog09” Brooks was the first finalist to leave the final table as he took home $17,153.
“WhatifGod” and “zerodada” were short-handed as they exited the tournament. Joao “Naza114” Vieira and Vicente “vicenfish” Delgado won $60,326 and $81,573. Samuel Vousden won $78,104 after finishing fourth.
