PokerView Closes Without Notice

pvPokerView is the latest Merge Gaming skin to abruptly close.  The Merge Gaming skin emailed affiliates in February alerting them that one of their partners had made an offer for their business.  This February 15th email that solicited offers from affiliates stated:

An affiliate site has recently made an offer to purchase PokerView. Before we make our final decision, we would like to give you the opportunity as well to purchase PokerView.  If you are interested, please contact me for details.

It would appear that either the affiliate site deal fell through or this buyer was actually the network.  Players received an email today that PokerView was closing and that these players would need to create an account at the main network skins of Carbon Poker, Sportsbook.com or PlayersOnly.  Balances will be transferred to the new Merge Gaming skin as soon as the request is processed by support.

While players that download or log into the PokerView software are greeted by a message to move their accounts to the main Merge Gaming skins, the PokerView.com website still appears to be operational.  Visitors to the website would not know that PokerView has closed until the software is downloaded.

As with most Merge Gaming skin closures, players will lose their VIP Points.  Players will also lose their VIP status and all tournament tickets.

PokerView originally launched as an Everleaf Gaming skin.  There were two platforms available to players.  One involved a standalone room where players were required to use their webcam to play.  This created a life-like online poker environment.  There was also access to the Everleaf Gaming Network.  PokerView moved to Merge Gaming in September 2011, barely escaping the Everleaf Gaming implosion.  The network banned US players in February 2012 and stiffed virtually all of their US players.  Everleaf Gaming members in the rest of the world that are still active on the network often wait 4-6 months to get paid.

PokerView is one of many recent Merge Gaming skins to walk away from the network with little notice.  Overbet and IronDuke closed last month.  RPM Poker and Hero Poker closed in December.  Black Chip Poker also left the Merge Gaming Network in December.  Unlike the other skins that left the network, Black Chip Poker found a new home.  It is now on the Winning Poker Network, which is one of the fastest paying US facing online poker networks.
