On Saturday, there was a total of 1,337 bloggers that came together to compete for PokerStars World Blogger Championship of online poker. This was designed to show the world that these bloggers know more then just how to write about poker…they know how to play and play well. But while most do write for poker blogs, not everyone in the tournament does. But, they are bloggers all the same.
To enter for this tournament, bloggers had to post a graphic, which advertised the WBCOOP on their blogs. Then it had to be verified by a PokerStars employee that the blog has been up and running for two months at the minimum.
It took about five hours before the first level of prizes were given. Places for first level of prizes started all the way down at 81st. There were duffel bags and playing cards distributed. All in all, it took about eight hours before PokerStars named the winner for this third blogger tournament.
And the winner was a Portuguese blogger who goes by the name Lparreira when playing. His prize was that of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure package valued at $12,000. That World Poker Tour takes place January 4th – January 11th at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Caribbean.
The nine final players represented just how diverse the group of players was as they came from the United States, France, UK, Norway, Brazil, Greece, and Portugal.
