The preliminary details for the upcoming Pokerfest have been released by partypoker with the festival set to begin on May 7th and run through the 21st. Pokerfest will include over 300 events with over $20 million prize pools on offer. With hundreds of events to choose from, players will have no trouble finding several events to take part in.
The buy-ins for the 300+ tournaments will range in price from $5.50 to $25,500. With many affordable options, players can choose to compete in several low buy-in tournaments or save up to take on the higher buy-in events like the $25,500 Super High Roller event which will take place on the 17th. This event is unique in the fact that no fees will be taken by partypoker with the $500 fee of each entry set to go to charity. The winner of the event gets to choose which charity will benefit from the funds.
Partypoker has announced that this Pokerfest will include eight multi-phased tournaments which will have combined guarantees of $3.6 million. Players will be able to compete in Phase 1 with buy-ins ranging from $5.50 to $530. Players can enter and compete several times a day during the entire Powerfest.
The Main Event will have four weight divisions, which makes it easier for players to compete in a buy-in range that suits their bankroll. In the past editions of the Powerfest, the weight divisions have been enjoyed by all. For this go round, the Main Events will run on May 21st and have combined guarantees of $2,150,000.
The Powerfest #291 Main Event will offer $50,000 in guaranteed prize money with a buy-in of just $11. Powerfest #292 Main Event will have a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000 with a $55 buy-in. Next in line is the Powerfest #293 Main Event which has a buy-in of $215 and a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000. The final Main Event is Powerfest #295 which has a $1,050 buy-in and $1,000,000 also up for grabs.
According to Tom Waters, the partypoker Managing Director, party decided to go for it this year, increasing the total guaranteed prize money to more than $20 million and offer fantastic new headline events in the series such as the Title Fight and the $2 million charity event.
The full schedule of events should be released in the coming weeks with more information on each event as well as opportunities to qualify or buy-in directly.
