As we reported earlier this week, gaming in the state of New Jersey continues to grow at a steady pace. PartyPoker, AAPN and WSOP are top networks when it comes to poker in the state, and overall over 109,000 online gambling accounts have been created in the state.
According to a recent data release of the Division of Gaming Enforcement in NJ, 109,946 online gambling accounts had been created as of December 22nd. This number has most likely grown considerably over the holidays as players would have free time on their hands. Just last week, the state had just over 90,000 accounts created, so this surge was around 18,000, a very big jump in just one week’s time.
David Rebuck is the Director of the Division of Gaming Enforcement and he commented on the progress by stating: “We have seen a steady and continual increase in site traffic since November 21 due to the outreach of the casino operators. We are encouraged by their marketing efforts and are optimistic for the future of New Jersey’s internet gaming industry.”
The state has seen steady growth in player numbers since the beginning of this month. The player count was roughly around 50,000 during this time and has now basically doubled in numbers from the first of December until now.
The number of online gambling accounts should continue to increase, especially with a few factors considered. There are top poker events that should gain a great deal of interest online with qualifiers available, including a World Poker Tour event. The amount of player accounts should also grow considering there are still operators that have not entered the market yet. Once these sites go live, players will want to check them out. Also, as the market expands in New Jersey, operators will begin to develop promotional options to bring in more players as well.
