Nick Petrangelo Discusses How Players Feel While Playing High Rollers

Nick Petrangelo, a Massachusetts native, is one of High Roller’s highest earners. He has won almost $6 million since last summer.

The poker professional has total life savings of about $24.2 million and is the 22nd player on the All-Time Money List. But, two other players have received more cash in the tournament in the past six months than him.

They are Michael Addamo and Koray Aldemir. Addamo won all major High Roller events in the fourth quarter of 2021, while Aldemir won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event.

Petrangelo’s Success Story

Petrangelo earned the first major score in 2015 and is now in an elite company ahead of talented players such as Phil Hellmuth, a 57 years old player who is among the most decorated in the history of poker. He is a two-time WSOP bracelet winner and reached three final tables in last September’s Poker Masters.

Hellmuth then followed up the Masters with consecutive scores in Aria High Rollers for a total of $2 million. Even so, Petrangelo finished 2021 with a High Roller win at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic that took place in December. He led in the Stairway to Millions at the PokerGO studio based in Las Vegas.

He started the lead by finishing as a runner-up on the $25,000 poker event for $175,000. The following day, Petrangelo won $567,000 in a $50,000 event and made a late registration and got the $100,000. Even so, he won $1,026,000 and got the Player of the Series award.

Petrangelo holds the sixth position in the Card Player Player of the Year competition and is fourth on the PokerGO Tour leaderboard. It monitors events that have a buy-in of at least $10,000. Surprisingly, the player doesn’t celebrate a lot like other pros when he wins huge cash prizes.

The 35-year old believes that he is a top High Roller player due to variance as he worked hard before and after advancing to the final table.

Card Player caught up with him after winning $25,000 in a PokerGo Cup High Roller. Yet, he has managed to reach the final tables at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague to discuss maintaining momentum, pressuring players to play well, and his winning streak.

Petrangelo has played many GGPoker games and received several cash prizes. At times, he competes in $500, $1,000 and $2,000 tournaments.

The biggest pot he has ever played was worth $800,000, and it was close to Ali Imsirovic’s record of $974,632. But, Wiktor ‘Limitless’ Malinowski broke it when he won a $1,447,347 pot.

Petrangelo recognizes Michael Addamo and Imsirovic as great players as they are among the top 20 players. Even so, he considers himself a heater as he strives to make the best decision whenever he plays.

The poker pro stated that he knows that his current performance might not be better than his past records. He still has the same practices and isn’t on a crazy run like some players, such as Imsirovic and Addamo, who make amazing adjustments.
