National Heads-Up Poker Championship Back In Action Soon

It has been one year since the National Heads-Up Poker Championship took place and in just two weeks time, the event will be back in action. Caesars Palace will play host to the event once again and sixty four players will soon take to the felt to see who the champion will be. NBC as well as the NBC Sports Network will air the event beginning in March and April.

The National Heads-Up Poker Championship will feature sixty four players competing in one-on-one games in No Limit Hold’em format. The event is patterned after the NCAA Basketball Tournament bracket and only the best of the best compete. Players will be drawn for their first matches and will be seeded to compete in the single style elimination format. Once a player wins a heads up match they will then advance to the next round.

The official player for the list has yet to be released but a few players have confirmed that they will be competing in the event after receiving an invite. Greg Raymer posted on Twitter in December that he will be heading to compete at the end of January. Viktor Blom also commented on Twitter that he will be playing in the NBC Heads event and stated that he is playing quite well in heads up right now, so he might be one to watch!

Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Faraz Jaka, Matt Salsberg, Chris Moneymaker, Will Failla, Olivier Busquet, Andy Frankenberger, Dan Cates, Greg Merson and many more will also be competing in the event. The event is scheduled for January 24th to the 26th and will take place in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace.

The event will be filmed, as always and fans as well as fellow players will be able to check out all the action on NBC as well as NBC Sports in the following months!
