Caesars Makes Opening Plans
Caesars was one of the first companies to reopen some of its properties — Caesars Palace, the Flamingo, and Harrah’s. After a successful weekend and hundreds of visitors, the company now decided to open the iconic LINQ property.
Tony Rodio, CEO of Caesars Entertainment, stated that Caesars’ staff was encouraged by the number of customers and their interest. Moreover, he added that the company would include an “enhanced health and safety protocols” and that the company would continue to evaluate the situation and adjust to it whenever needed to “enhance guest and team member comfort and experiences.”
However, Caesars is still not ready to open the casino part of the LINQ. According to Rodio, the main focus of the company will be on “properly executing health and safety directives.”
Las Vegas tourists who plan to visit Caesars Palace and Harrah’s will have an opportunity to go to their restaurants and bars that will reopen on Friday, June 12. Moreover, those who like horse racing and sports can visit the sportsbook and the racebook.
MGM Resorts International Also Joins the Reopening Process
MGM Resorts also made an announcement that two additional properties will reopen on June 25 – The Luxor and The Soppers at Mandalay Bay. After that, the biggest operator in Las Vegas will reopen Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay and ARIA on July 1.
Bill Hornbuckle, acting CEO and president of MGM, stated that it had been “exciting and emotional” to witness that the Entertainment Capital of the World had been full of energy once again.
He added that MGM’s guests were having a great time, and that they were thrilled to be back in Las Vegas. Finally, Hornbuckle concluded that he was eager to have the staff back to work and that they were ready to “enhance the Las Vegas experience.”
The Nevada Gaming Control Board allowed properties to reopen on June 4, and tourists immediately started visiting Vegas. However, casinos are not allowed to work at 100% capacity. Instead, they are all instructed to work at 50%, as the number of slots is reduced, as well as the number of people who can play games at the same table.
Although there are many things going on in the US, including the coronavirus pandemic and protests surrounding George Floyd’s murder, casino operators were still satisfied with the number of visitors who turned up during the reopening weekend.
