The state of New Jersey has set November 26th as the official date for online gambling launch and it seems as though every week, more news is released involving the upcoming launch. The Golden Nugget has now received their permit to offer online gambling in the state and apparently Betfair is now creating a promotional campaign despite not having approval to operate in the state as of yet.
Let’s start with The Golden Nugget. The casino is now the second to earn a permit from the Division of Gaming Enforcement and will be offering online casino and poker games starting on the 26th of next month. Executive Vice President and General Manger of The Golden Nugget, Tom Pohlman, commented that the company is committed to their customers and they have a brick and mortar casino to stand behind their online brand, unlike other operators. Bally Technologies is currently working with the Golden Nugget to offer online poker and casino gaming options. Bally has appointed services by the Amaya Ongame network to provide software for US players.
In other news, Betfair has already created a marketing campaign titled “Let’s Play NJ” in anticipation of offering gambling options in the state. The UK based company is yet to receive approval in the state but has already launched this campaign online, with new websites as well as social media accounts.
The new promotion is prompting players to sign up with Betfair to begin receiving updates on the status of Betfair in the state of New Jersey. @BetfairNJ is available on Twitter as well as BetfairNewJersey on Facebook. The websites featuring the promotional campaign has a small amount of fine print which reads:
“The future availability of Internet gaming services on Betfair.com in New Jersey is contingent and conditioned upon the issuance of all necessary approvals … including, but not limited to, all approvals, licenses and permits required by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.”
