Josh Arieh thrilled poker fans when he won $316,226 in the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship. He got the fifth gold bracelet in his career.
The poker pro stated after the tournament that he didn’t win the tournament in the last three years. Besides, he praised his opponents for their stunning moves. Arieh’s latest victory increased his poker career earnings to over $11.3 million.
He disclosed that he felt composed when signing up for the event. Yet, some people wondered how he maintained his stack on the final day. It was his second time winning a limit hold’em bracelet after winning the first one in the 1999 WSOP $3,000 buy-in event.
Arieh has won three other bracelets in pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better, and pot-limit Omaha tournaments. The $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship bracelet was his fourth final-table finish and first title in 2023.
It earned him 316 PokerGO Tour (PGT) points and 660 Card Player Player of the Year (POY) points. So, he is among the leading 150 players in the ongoing 2023 POY race and 15th in the PGT leaderboard.
The Championship had 134 entrants who formed a $1,246,200 prize pool that its leading 21 participants shared. They included Koray Aldemir, Paul Volpe, Mori Eskandari, Ian Johns, and Ben Yu.
Idema’s K-Q beat the McKeehen K-9 and eliminated him late on Day 3. Arieh was the last three players’ shortest stack when they went for a break at 2:30 am.

How Things Unfolded at the Final Table
Arieh kicked off Day 4’s action and collected more chips before scoring the day’s first knockout. Shimizu lost to Idema’s trips and became the short stack.
Still, he used 9-2 to call off his remaining chips on the A-J-7-9 board. Arieh held J-10 for a blank on the river and higher pair when he sent Shimizu packing in the third position with $144,069. Reports state that the latter has $765,150 in lifetime poker earnings.
Arieh had a 5,150,000:2,995,000 chip advantage over Idema when their heads-up action kicked off. The former extended his lead before the latter recovered his chips. They exchanged the stack lead several times before Arieh got a vital lead leaving Idema with several wagers.
Idema wagered, prompting Arieh to call. Besides, the turn brought 9Heart Suit and Idema wagered again.
This didn’t deter Arieh from raising as Idema made an all-in three-bet move. The latter finished second with $195,443 and raised his tournament earnings to over $2.4 million.
