Halfway Through PACOOP, NLHE Players are Winning Big

The Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker (PACOOP) is underway. It started on September 19 and will last until October 5. The organizers prepared 50 online events, with $1.5 million in guaranteed prizes distributed to the best players.

The flagship event of the series will take place on October 4. It is a $300 NLHE Main Event that comes with $200,000 in guaranteed prizes.

Halfway through the series, some of the top players already managed to win their events and land lucrative rewards.

PACOOP-19

PACOOP-19 was a smaller $200 8-Game event that offered $15,000 in guaranteed prizes. It attracted a total of 93 entries, with 23 of them being re-entries. The prize pool was $17,298, and the top 11 players got paid.

A player nicknamed “orionguid108” managed to win in this event, claiming a total of $4,219 as the main prize after sending “123456ers” to the rail. The runner-up had to settle for $3,214.

PACOOP-26

One of the events in the series which saw a larger number of participants, PACOOP-26 was a $100 buy-in NLHE (Sunday Special SE), which offered $100,000 in guaranteed prizes. A total of 1,077 entries were recorded, with 653 entries and 424 re-entries. At the start of the tournament, there were only 206 players, but that number doubled after the first level.

Only a third of the registered players stayed in the game after the registration period was closed, and the top 161 had a shot at receiving part of the prize pool. After an hour, the contest reached the final table when “CallYourMommy” was eliminated, finishing in tenth place.

The event was eventually won by a player who uses an online moniker “pokaroka31.” They won a total of $15,020. However, they made a heads-up deal with “damanwitdaplan,” so the runner-up settled for $12,448. The event took nine and a half hours of poker action to wrap up.

PACOOP-30

PACOOP-30 lasted for less than five hours before a player managed to reach the final title. This player was “TryptophanMan,” who managed to earn a total of $8,712.

The event had a $500 buy-in, and it was dubbed a 6-max high roller event with $25,000 in guaranteed prizes. A total of 76 entries were recorded, and the final prize pool reached $35,720, meaning the original guaranteed prize was exceeded by 40%.

PACOOP-30 had an interesting twist in reaching the final result, as TryptophanMan managed to hit the rail twice during the registration period. However, the third time was indeed the charm for TryptophanMan as they managed to pave the way to victory.

The main opponent to TryptophanMan was “hunterm706,” who had to settle for the consolation prize of $6,638. This event marked the second title win for TryptophanMan, who also managed to top Event #7: $100 PLO (6-Max) after beating the 191-entry-strong field and grabbing the lion’s share of the $15k prize pool, winning a total of $3,497.
