Full Tilt Poker to Possibly Re-Open Software in November

After reports were published earlier this morning that seemed to confirm that PokerStars has finalized a deal with the United States Department of Justice to pay back frozen Full Tilt Poker player funds, it looks as if Full Tilt Poker’s software platform will also re-open in November.

As we reported in our first story, Wendeen Eolis of Poker Player Newspaper tweeted confirmations of this earlier this morning:

@WendeenEolis I let cat out of bag at http://PokerPlayerNewspaper.com ; jubilation for FTP employees/ Dublin & FTP customers. PS to be up for play/pay November

@WendeenEolis Last tweet needs typo correction. FTP to be up (relaunched by PS) for play and payouts due FTP customers.

Full Tilt Poker’s domain name at FullTiltPoker.com still has a seizure notice on it from the DOJ since Black Friday; however, it looks as if that will come down in the coming months as the site aims to offer real money play again.

It has been well over a year since Full Tilt’s software has gone offline. The scandals that have engulfed the company in the past 15 months have put a sour taste in the mouths of players all over the world – and especially to those in the United States.

While many speculated that Full Tilt Poker would eventually do the right thing and pay back player funds, it was never expected that they would re-open their software. However, when PokerStars announced a few months ago that they were in talks with the DOJ to purchase the company, it became a very real possibility that Full Tilt might emerge from the dead.

Now that a deal has reportedly been finalized, real money play on Full Tilt Poker looks to be a reality once again, and with PokerStars backing them I have no doubts they might once again be a dominant player in the online poker world.
