Daniel Negreanu will no longer be a member and an ambassador for PokerStars in all tournaments he plays. The most popular poker platform in the world and one of the best poker players ever reached an agreement that they should end their cooperation for the best.
The split between “Kid Poker” and PokerStars is described as amicable. Negreanu has been one of the most active and most notable members of PokerStars Team Pro for twelve years, which is a period he described as “an incredible run.”

Negreanu stated in an online announcement that it had been a great run, but that he and PokerStars were no longer going to cooperate and he was no longer going to be its ambassador. He added that he had worked with a lot of great people and that he had had an opportunity to travel around the globe and visit incredible places such as Barcelona, Monte Carlo, and the Caribbean (these three are his favorite places to play poker). Finally, Negreanu concluded his short speech by wishing everyone the best.
PokerStars officials also expressed good wishes to Negreanu, and one of the persons that spoke for the entire company was Rebecca McAdam Willets, PokerStars Associate Director. She stated that Negreanu had been one of the most important and most influential poker players for a very long time. She added that having him for 12 years was a wonderful experience, and it was great to share his passion, support, and insights during the relationship. She concluded by saying that PokerStars wished Daniel all the best for the future, including wedded bliss and a lot of good runs during the summer.
How Did Negreanu and PokerStars Start Working Together?
Daniel Negreanu originally had an idea to create a poker site on his own called Full Contact Poker. However, he was approached by PokerStars in June 2007, and the two sides reached an agreement, introducing Negreanu to their ambassador team. At that moment, he joined some of the biggest poker players in the industry back then such as Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem, and Greg Raymer. Negreanu’s platform was soon migrated to PokerStars, and it soon became a blog written by Negreanu for people who wanted to read about poker.
After that, Negreanu became a regular in European Poker Tour and other international tournaments, presenting PokerStars everywhere he goes.
Recently, Negreanu was in a bit of a conundrum when he was attacked by many professionals, including content creators such as Joey Ingram and Doug Polk. The main reason was PokerStars’ controversial decision to cut high-volume rewards, which Negreanu tried to rationalize.
