COOP by PokerStars Scheduled in NJ, Pennsylvania, Michigan

Championship of Online Poker by PokerStars Is Scheduled in NJ, Pennsylvania, and Michigan

Once again, PokerStars, with one of its series brands known as Championship of Online Poker (COOP), is returning to the US market. The tournament series will be running across all the PokerStars markets, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan. The tournament starts on September 10 and ends on September 27, 2021.

Currently, the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is ongoing in the global market. This time, PokerStars has decided to run its series brand in individual states. This includes PACOOP, MICOOP, and NJCOOP, with a cumulative guarantee of $4.5 million.

The poker operator has scheduled 190 events across the three markets. Pennsylvania and Michigan will have 65 events each, while New Jersey will have 60 events. The entry fee for the Main Event will be $300.

Guarantees for Main Event across markets will range from $100,000 to $200,000. The total guarantee for each market is dependent on the market size.

Thus, being the biggest market, Pennsylvania has a guarantee set at $2 million while that of the smallest market, New Jersey, has $1 million in prize money. Michigan will have $1.5 million in guarantees across its events.

Besides the Main Events in each market, there are several other high-end games. Most of these matches will be revamped games of regular versions. They include Super Tuesday, Sunday Special, and Thursday Thrill.

Pennsylvania Online Poker

Pennsylvania is PokerStars largest market and has played a huge part in creating the operator’s wealth. The state gets the higher-value matches than any other state.

For example, there is a Big Kickoff event that will go for just $50 with a guarantee of $50,000. New Jersey and Michigan have the same event but with a higher entry fee of $100 and a guarantee of $50,000.

High-value matches for this market include:

  • September 11: Big Kickoff and PKO High Roller
  • September 12: Special Sunday
  • September 19: Sunday Special SE
  • September 21: Super Tuesday
  • September 23: Thursday Thrill
  • September 26: High Roller and Main Event

Michigan COOP

Michigan will have 65 matches, similarly to Pennsylvania. But, most of these will have higher buy-in compared to Penn’s games. Some of the high-value events include:

  • September 11: Big Kickoff with a buy-in of $100
  • September 12: Sunday Special
  • September 19: Sunday Special SE
  • September 21: Super Tuesday
  • September 23: Thursday Thrill
  • September 26: PKO High Roller and Main Event

New Jersey COOP

New Jersey is a small poker market. In fact, it has fewer games than the other two markets. For example, one of the events absent in this market is PKO High Roller, which is present in the other two markets.

Some of the high-value games in the market include:

  • September 11: Big Kickoff
  • September 12: Sunday Special
  • September 14: Super Tuesday
  • September 15: High Roller
  • September 19: Sunday Special SE
  • September 23: Thursday Thrill
  • September 26: Main Event

There is a lot of value for players willing to play the COOP. For example, players in NJ and MI can win free Spin & Go tickets that could add up to $5000 in player’s bankroll.

Last spring, PokerStars held a three-state series under the brand name SCOOP. The events were a huge success, with 117,000 combined entries creating over $6.35 million in prizes. For now, we wait to see how the COOP series will play out.
