For the first time ever, players on the Las Vegas Strip will be able to get cash from bitcoin accounts thanks to the installation of a bitcoin ATM. A new bitcoin ATM has been placed on the Strip for gamblers to have the option of cashing out bitcoin for gambling at the local casinos. According to Vegas INC, the new ATM is located at 3735 Las Vegas Boulevard, which is near the Travelodge located near Harmon Avenue.
With a standard ATM, players would use their debit card to receive cash from an online bank account. With a bitcoin AMT, players have the same option of withdrawing cash but from their online bitcoin account. You simply enter in your phone number and a PIN number to verify yourself. You will also have to use a palm-print scanner for receiving cash.
Bitcoin can be cashed out as standard currency and used for anything on the Strip from food to shopping and of course poker gaming. The currency is virtual and has no physical form nor is it backed by a country. The exchange rate of Bitcoin is interchangeable and can change literally every minute. Bitcoin has become an option for online poker players and by adding an ATM on the Strip that can cash out Bitcoin, players who use Bitcoin will have an additional option for withdrawing cash.
The new ATM may be the first on the Strip but it is not the first bitcoin ATM in Las Vegas. Back in May, the D Las Vegas opened the very first bitcoin ATM in the state, which was just a few months after the casino started accepting the currency for nongaming purchases. While players cannot use bitcoin as a direct form of currency on the gaming floor, the option to use the ATM for conversion to cash is helpful to those who use bitcoin for online gaming.
