The winner of A$2,500 8 Game is Michael Gathy, and he managed to win a hefty price of A$58,590. The player from Belgium achieved this great victory only one day after another player from this country called Bart Lybaert managed to win the Six Max. Gathy won his first Aussie Millions ring as well as he successfully beat a field that consisted of 94 entrants.

Oliver Gill, who played on home ground in Australia, hit off the rail and ended up second, winning A$39,760. Gill is an experienced player who participated in Aussie Million several times, and this is just another great result for him that he managed to add to his poker resume. In fact, Gill participated in this particular 8 Game event a couple of times and managed to end up fifth in 2013, fourth in 2016, and had to hit the rail second in 2017 just like this year. But 2015 was pretty fruitful for him and was the time he managed to win the tournament.
Results of the Final Table
The final table saw a total of eight players return to the game, but Dean Francis was the first to go away on the eighth place and not win anything. Francis also participated in the Pot Limit Omaha event and ended up in tenth place. That was the time when the final table was created from the best seven players, with Benny Glaser being the chip leader at that moment.
The player who first hit the rail on the seventh place was Dale Townsend, who hasn’t win anything in Aussie Millions in two years, but this time he was lucky enough to take A$9,415 home with him. He was followed by Sal Ribbera, who was also playing on home ground and won A$11,510.
But then an unexpected turn on events happened and Benny Glaser, who was the chip leader, lost it all and ended up in fifth place. Glaser is the only player from the United Kingdom that made it to the final table in this tournament, and he managed to win a total of A$14,125.
The two next players to hit the rail were David Munday in fourth and Timothy Marsters in third place. They managed to win A$19,355 and A$26,155 respectively, leaving Oliver Gill and Michael Gathy to play in the heads-up battle.
Gathy was dominant from the start of the heads-up play in terms of the number of chips. He managed to keep it that way until successfully beating Gill and winning his second biggest cash on this Australian poker festival. His first best score was when he ended up on the tenth place last year when he played A$25,000 Challenge.
