Day two of the World Poker Tour L.A. Classic saw 428 players taking to the tables for six levels of play and a long day of poker. This WPT event has quickly grown to be a favorite among professional poker players and because of this; a lot of these players were tangling early and some with tournament ending results.
Level one saw a mass exodus as the tournament lost seven total tables and many pros including Jean-Robert Bellande, Max Pescatori and Carlos Mortensen. The second level saw no decline in the pace of departures as there were less than 300 players left by the end of level two.
There were a couple tough tables during Day 2 but late in the day Table 9 with Antonio Esfandiari, David Benyamine, Johnny Chan, Anna Wroblewski and David Singer was one of the toughest going. Later Phil Ivey was added and promptly sent Johnny Chan to the rail.
With only 136 players surviving to Day 3, Day 2 left a lot of players standing on the rail with Johnny Chan including, Todd Brunson, Bill Edler, Barry Greenstein, John Hennigan, John Juanda, Erick Lindgren, Men “The Master†Nguyen, Paul Wasicka, David Williams and talk show host, Montel Williams.
